He opened it on his Birthday and started to pretend to eat it right away lol the play food looks so real and is made or solid material you don't have to worry about water getting inside or mold on the inside like some other play food brands that are hollow on the inside.

You always want to give the most fun, life-like, age-appropriate ways to learn and spend your time. The foods are meals the kids see their family cook. They smelled, tasted, saw smiles, and heard conversations that's something worth imitating. I'm working on a cookbook with pictures of the play food so kids can get the most out of their time. Like planning meals, making a grocery list, grocery shopping, using money, inviting friends, etc, this is a rough draft.

We have the red and blue sets of Melissa and Doug play food and though pricy are the best available . The kids age 14 mos.,3 years and 6 years all enjoy playing with it.

We just built a playhouse for our grandkids. We had a lot of food and some dishes that have stood the test of time (24 years) from our daughter. We needed to add to our collection for the next generation's 'Cafe'. I searched Melissa and Doug because I knew their products were good quality. These are perfect!
