Was torn between buying this clamp and the other clamp here on amazon that apparently is very small but much cheaper. I needed something that would hold wood confidently since I was creating a taper jig to make the back of an adirondack chair whose back slats are wider at the top than the bottom to make a fan shape. These toggle clamps worked perfectly to securely hold the wood onto the taper jig I made as I ran cedar board through a table saw. Results were excellent and after the fact, I believe the slightly high price of these robust clamps was justified. As a side, if using toggle clamps in a table saw jig, I would highly recommend vertical over horizontal clamps to avoid hitting the saw fence or anything else.In the pictures below, an example of how these toggle clamps can be used is shown. I made a taper jig to cut cedar boards to make the fan shape seen on a typical adirondack chair back. A board already cut is shown clamped down. The clamps securely held the board as they were run through a table saw giving great results in a safe manner.

These are nice heavy duty latches. One didn't come with a lock nut whereas the other did, but other than that they are good.

As other reviews mentioned, these appear to be good quality and have a solid feel. The reason for the four stars and not five is that I am unable to clamp anything thicker than 1 x material - meaning 3/4 inch thick pieces of wood. It was unclear to me from the description what the capacity was. In the questions and answers section it was mentioned that the capacity is about 2 inches. After removing the bolt above the rubber stopper so the stopper was flush with the metal (see pic of product), I was able to gain more range and was able to barely clamp down an inch thick piece of wood. I was unable to clamp down 2 x material (1.5 inches thick). Maybe mine will loosen over time or there are variations in the manufacturing.I will most likely be using this to clamp down 1x boards so its not thay big of a deal but felt that a one star deduction was fair. Also, I am sure that I assembled it properly as pictured.

These sat around for a while before I started appreciating their utility. I make little ornate boxes. These are a quick and easy way to cut a perfect line for edge gluing, or to cut grooves for inlays. They hold tight and don't damage either surface. I wish I could clamp a thicker piece, as these seem to max somewhere around a half inch thickness. I might buy another pair and elevate them when I mount them. Clever, useful device if you need to work with fairly small pieces.

I ordered these clamps to use on a custom jig I made to be able to use my table saw as a jointer. There are affordable and work well. The clamping pressure can be adjusted. The quality is not bad. I'm sure there are many uses for this type of clamp I haven't looked into but for my particular use these worked out perfect.

This toggle clamp has been useful as a hold down on a number of table saw sled jig set-ups. It is solidly made and promises to last a long time. The screw down base makes it moveable and the rubber foot, though it will move a bit from side to side, is adequate to help secure a piece for an angle cut or to secure a piece to a taper jig. This one tightens on the up stroke.

Good strong clamps. I made a small template to assemble some small projects that I make from time to time. This makes it easier to holds all the pieces together for gluing. They hold well and are strong not flimsy, a quality product for a fair price.

I have been a theatre technician for over 20 years and I cannot figure how this product is supposed to work. After receiving and attempting to adjust with several people helping, we gave up on how it could be mounted and control a wagon from moving. I then went on line and found complaint after complaint that this product is poorly designed.

Works perfect

I copied the design of a popular ice auger carrier and used this clamp to hold the auger in place. I bent the hook open a bit further so it would fit around my ion alpha. It's worked great so far.
