Shimano FXS 2 Piece Spinning Rod

Update, 4+ years in and I still use it often. Superb quality and price.Great rod for the money Good action and sensitivity. I paired it with a Shimano Solstace matched for size and I could not be happier with a $40 combo. I have used it for saltwater fishing and it has performed well. I had a large skate on and it handled it with no problem.

I have two of these for basic lake and stream fishing. Decent sensitivity and good casting distance. I did have to replace one rod when the tip got snagged on something and the top 4 inches immediately snapped right off, but overall I've been happy with them and at about $13 apiece it's really not that big of a deal if you have to replace one every once in a while. I have an Ugly Stik for saltwater, but the FX2 is my go-to for small to medium freshwater fish.

This rod is OK for the price. Not great. Have definitely had rods of similar price with much more defined action. also, be aware that it has foam grips instead of cork, in my experience the foam tends to degrade quickly in the sunlight.

Just got this in the mail yesterday. It took more than a week to arrive but it seems to be worth the wait. I haven't used it yet but it mated well with my new KastKing model 3000 spinning reel. I can't wait to get out there, now that the fishing season has started. I'll try to provide a follow up when I've fished with it a few times.

Rod looks nice,but was using it in cold weather and it snapped in-half. I expected better from Shimano. It was cheap and thats what I got. Would not recommend.

It was a good little fishing rod, fast and light. but after ONLY USING IT 3 TIMES IT BROKE! never buying this again
