Sometimes you receive something, you open the package, and you just marvel at how well it's crafted and almost forget what it's for. This is one of them. It's a sturdy and sharp piece of garden tool. In using it I feel the pleasure of very precise digging and cutting. On the back it says "Made in Japan" and prints the name of the manufacturer. It comes in a pouch for holding the blade. I normally am careless with my garden tools. Not with this one. After using it I carefully wipe off the dirt and put the blade back to the pouch. Honestly it's not my favorite tool because I feel the Coprahead is more effective for weeding and it's also more versatile. However, this Nisaku still has its place in my toolbox, if not in my heart as well.

I use these things all the time in almost every day. This tool goes in the category of items that once you own, you don’t know how you got along without it. Also, these tools make the best gifts because other people have no idea how fantastic they are until you give them one.I use mine for planting six pack plugs for popping weeds out for ripping open bags of topsoil for breaking up root balls for prying plants out of pots that they are stuck into… Everything

I bought this on a whim, but OMG does it work great. I can dig the entire dandelion root out without a lot of effort. And forget it Oxalis, you're done for now. I really don't know how I managed all these years without it. Do yourself a favor and get this weeding tool. Word of caution: ALWAYS wear gloves, very sharp.

I love this tool. I am a gardener and since I found this tool it is 95% of the time the one I reach for. I use it for weeding all the time. I have had one for years. I bought a spare just in case something happens to my original. It is not the most ergonomic so I gave it a low rating in that area.

The Hori Hori I received as a gift -- same brand -- is better than these. I thought I'd ordered duplicates to give to friends, but these have two sharp blade sides, no serration.

This is most creative gardening tool ever! A neighbor bought it for me and now I am buying it for others. It is perfect for cutting roots and separating bulbs. One edge is like a saw + it has a measuring edge (in inches).

This tool is like no other I’ve ever used. It really gets around the deep roots making it a breeze to pull out the entire weed and root. It’s sharp as well. Having a sheath is a good thing. I waited too long to order this.
