This is a top tier crossbow. I am amazed at the technology that is in it. The weight is evenly distributed which makes the weight manageable. I have not shot it much but from what I have seen it is quiet and fast! 440 FPS is fast! Cons: Lack of extra arrows available during hunting season which are a necessity! If I could suggest one major change make the crank removeable and the ability to store it on the bow. Overall very pleased with the bow!

Before the bow even came out of the box the roller, rod and c clip for the trigger assembly was loose and rolling around in the box. After reassembling that I further inspected the bow and found scuffs and scratches (all documented but Amazon won't load the files). With no time to return and wait for a replacement I mounted my scope and took the sighting it in. Right away I noticed MORE loose hardware and ended up tightening 80% of the screws including 2 on the sled and both on the arrow rest that were almost completely un threaded. When paying 2k for a bow this should not happen...That being said, once I was confident the bow was tightened up and all hardware was locked down I returned to sighting in the bow. After an hour of major sight adjustments (some videos claim to be 0'd at 20 out of the box) I was able to finally tune it in and was very impressed with its functionality, balance and just all around performance even though I truly believe I was sent someone's returned bow, in pieces.

I have waited for over 3 hunting seasons to upgrade my crossbow and finally did, OR SO I THOUGHT! Ordered the Axe 440 and it's here! How exciting, like a kid at Christmas. Get it out of the box put on the scope, go to see how the crank system works ( after reading the directions) and BANG! THE the Allen bolt that holds the crank system together flies across the room and is in pieces! I AM EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED!

This is my 5th crossbow that I’ve purchased thru the years. I am very happy with the consistent accuracy. The scope is a nice addition as well, not sure if I will try a rangefinder scope or leave it stock

I love this bow but now it is 400 dollars cheaper if I would of known it was going to be this much cheaper I would of waited.

The product is fine. Although they ran a promotion with a rebate card of $750.It has been twice the time and still no rebate.

I've been using this crossbow for a year now and I'm still as enamored with it as I was when I unboxed it. I have some engineering experience, and have an immense amount of respect for what they've accomplished here.The Axe 440 represents the top-of-the-line - I believe you'd be hard pressed to find a higher quality crossbow - and it's absolutely outstanding in both form and function. I really feel like I'm look at an art piece.The crossbow is very ergonomic, compact and comfortable to hold, and well-balanced with good weight distribution (10.5 pounds total). One of my favorite features is the crank - it's smooth and whisper quiet, and can be easily uncranked, which adds to its versatility, safety, and convenience. It's a little unnerving at first, not hearing the click into place. But really they thought of everything, it stops when it's supposed to stop, just trust the engineering and be thankful that there are no clicks to scare away that buck.And there are so many other features, really I could go on for an hour: adjustable foot stirrup (something I've never seen before), premium scope with two color reticle, horizontal hand shields for protection, ambidextrous, highly visible safety, resets to safe after each cock, protected trigger which is perfectly set at 3.5 pounds with zero slack, designed to shoot with or without gloves, and it's fully adjustable for comfort and a custom fit. I'm just incredibly impressed with all the safety features, they really make me feel comfortable using it.Another really cool thing - the bolt almost floats, it doesn't rest on the rails. I believe it's designed to reduce friction and thus increase speed. My initial concern was this would sacrifice accuracy, but actually this thing is incredibly accurate. They really went back to the drawing board in designing this thing, questioning tradition and coming up with something truly original and unique. It almost feels like something out of a sci-fi movie.If you're new to crossbows or need help confirming you assembled it correctly, the local shooting range is often happy to offer free help. It's almost fully assembled out of the box. You simply need to adjust the cheek rest, lengthen the stock if needed, adjust the bolt storage if needed, and assemble the scope.And the obvious feature, the Axe is incredibly fast, with a speed of 440 FPS (about 300MPH). This may have been the fastest on the market when I ordered it. While there are now faster crossbows on available (like the Raven 500 FPS and Nitro 505 FPS), I'm not sure if they offer the same features or level of safety this Axe provides.One reviewer had a minor complaint that you can only use the Axe brand bolts with this crossbow, but I don't see that as a valid criticism. First, these are micro bolts, not traditional bolts. Second, when designing a premium item like this, maximum efficiency is key, and designing it around a specific bolt size helps achieve that. The engineering that went into this is incredibly impressive, and certain limitations should be expected when owning a lightning fast, high-end crossbow like this.One thing to watch out for - I needed a whole new target for this, the bolts went right through my target lol. I can only assume it would probably pass right through a deer.Overall, I give this crossbow an easy five stars. It's an excellent choice for seasoned archers or anyone looking for a well-made, portable, and versatile crossbow with innovative engineering and a whole new level of safety features.
