SmallRig NATO Top Handle with Record Start/Stop Remote Trigger for Sony/ for Panasonic/ for FUJIFILM/ for Z CAM Cameras - 3322

This handle rocks, it make hitting start and stop so much easier that pressing the shutter on my gh5. It’s well built and the locking cold shoe on the front is a nice addition. The only reason I’m not giving it 5 stars is because it’s a little short when holding it with my thumb in position to hit the button. But I’ll overlook that given it’s capabilities.

This is exactly what I wanted out of a top handle. It's comfortable to hold for extended use, can have a multitude of other accessories attached to it, and has a remote trigger button so that I don't have to reach over for the record button on my a7siii as I hold the top handle in my right hand and adjust zoom/focus with my left. There is one GIANT flaw for me though and it has ruined projects because of it; if you don't press the remote record super firmly, it won't always register. This means you can miss significant shots. Which I have.I love this thing, but if it can't do what it's supposed to every time, then I can't entirely recommend this product. I wish I could, truly. But if a flaw in a product can risk missing shots entirely, it's effectively just a plain old top handle and not worth the money in that case. Honestly, this would be a 5/5 review if it worked as intended as what this is supposed to achieve is such an awesome addition to any filmmaker's arsenal, which is why I even gave it 3/5. But unless this is just a defective top handle limited only to mine, I can't recommend this product to any professional.

I got this top handle, thinking that would be the solution since I don’t like to reach for the record button. The record bottom worked for about 1 hour, then stopped working and never worked again.I wish they can fix this.Returning this top handle.

What few people know is that the remote button also works with most Canon cameras, just as long as you set the camera trigger to start/stop recording.

Der Griff mit Aufnahmeknopf ermöglicht wunderbare Aufnahmen aus „tiefen“ Perspektiven ohne sich hinknien oder hinlegen zu müssen. Im Prinzip eine klasse Idee.Wieso man allerdings einen Aufnahmeknopf verbaut, der beim Drücken ein lautes Geräusch von sich gibt, bleibt das Geheimnis des Herstellers - der Videoclip muß in jedem Fall an beiden Enden geschnitten werden, denn das Geräusch hört man auf der Tonspur.Was sehr hilfreich gewesen wäre ist eine Anzeige neben dem Knopf, z.B. mit einer kleinen LED, daß die Aufnahme gestartet und beendet wurde. So schaut man „aus Sicherheitsgründen“ immer noch zusätzlich auf die entsprechende Anzeige auf dem Display der Kamera.
