DII Chevron Throw Collection Handloomed Cotton, 50x60, Barn Red

I love this blanket! It is well made, held up fine in the washer, is a good size and looks cozy on my couch. It did smell a little weird but to me it smelled new, not like a musty basement as others have said. And I saw a lot of reviews that said it’s not soft. Yea it’s not soft like one of those microplush blankets but it’s not supposed to be! It’s a knit blanket! I saw a review that said it feels like one of those Mexican blankets and I agree. I really like the texture of it. Another review said it’s the same size as a large towel. It’s bigger than that. It’s just the right size for a decorative throw. It covers me completely. It did get little fuzzies all over my black shirt but I just won’t snuggle with it when I have my work clothes on. I love Amazon and buy most of my things from here but sometimes I think not reading the negative reviews, or choosing which ones to ignore will benefit me in the future. It took me so long to actually purchase this blanket because of the few negative reviews. But if I had seen it in a store I would have bought it and loved it and not have had all these negative expectations and not even thought twice about the fuzzies or the smell.

I got this blanket today. And it came from a return , I’m guessing, because it has the previous owners sticky note on it. Note says “ODOR AND PULL”. Which it does have a pull in it and smells like a nasty warehouse. If I’m going to receive used and damaged item I’d like a discount. 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

After all was said and done, everyone simply loved these. I gave these as Xmas gifts at work for my department. One size fits all, age and gender neutral, win win! Luckily, I opened one to make sure all was well before wrapping and gifting. The smell was horrible. These smelled like they had been in long term damp storage. There were silica packets included but a teaspoon of desiccant could not combat whatever/where these were stored. Xmas party in two days, no time to send back and find something else. I washed them first, no joy and this could be because I have a high efficiency washer. I decided to wash the second time with vinegar/baking soda combo and that did the trick. No lingering musty scent.I'm giving this 4 stars because everyone loved them, I took away 1 star for the stress and extra work on my end. The weave and weight of these all cotton throws are perfect. Plus the pattern everyone liked as well. Three days later and I'm still getting thank yous.For the price point, I would recommend these but with a warning that they may require additional care to be usable.

I normally don't leave bad reviews, but I have to be honest. I ordered 2.5 weeks ago and patiently waited for it. Normally things are shipping ASAP, but, you know.Anyway, I get it and I’m excited to throw on my bed (pun intended.) The second I open it I get a weird whiff of something funky. A scent of mothballs? Sour food? I don’t know. It wasn’t pleasurable and it made me want to wash it immediately.As I shake it I am blown away (another pun) by how much lint and dust bunnies came flying out! I stood their kind of shocked. Maybe there were a few dead dust bunnies and that’s what I am smelling.Anyway, as soon as I get my chin off the floor, I hear air purifier go off in full TURBO mode. Like he wasn’t ready for this.So, all in all. Yes, it’s a nice throw blanket. But be prepared to clean up and have an air purifier ready.

This blanket arrived smelling like it had been stored in someone's wet, mildewy basement for decades. I opened it at the office and had to immediately take it outside because it was making everyone gag. Brought it home and washed it and it shed fibers and lint terribly. On the upside, after washing and drying 17 times, it no longer smells like mildew. It is however, still shedding lint and fibers with each wash and is badly pilled. Wash alone or better yet, but a different blanket altogether.

This throw looks the way I expected. What I did not expect was the horrible, awful, toxic, disgusting smell of the blanket. It smelled like vomit. It took three washes, lots of Oxyclean, baking soda, and two types of detergents to get the smell to a manageable level. And I’m doing so, there was so much lint that came off of the blanket, it looked like a second blanket was left behind in my washer and dryer.

This blanket is nothing but crap. I washed it according to the instructions and when I took it out of the washing machine, my machine was full of wads of what I can only assume was pieces tassel that had come out during the wash cycle. See the photo for evidence. It’s disgusting. The yarn that was used to make this is obviously of poor quality. I’ve washed a lot of blankets and never had this happen before. I’m currently drying it and then sending it back. Don’t buy it.

This looks an expensive blanket from a boutique! I'm seriously shocked! I just needed a background throw to tie black & white patterns together in my living room design, and I had been looking on sites like Parachute, Nordstrom Home, West Elm, CB2, etc. Then I thought, screw it, why spend $100+ on a throw that I'm not even going to use? (I have a few from West ELm-- every single one has pilled, snagged, ruined after the wash, and looks like crap after less than 18 months of little to no use.) This throw looks like something I bought on one of my travels abroad, or, like I said, otherwise bought from one of those tres chic online boutiques. It's bigger and thicker than I thought it would be. Instead of being in the background in my living room, it's front and center on a designer chair. The only criticism is that it had a slight smell, like a basement, which is gone after a light wash on delicate cycle (not enough to take away a star).

This blanket is just what I wanted for my chair in our garden Room, beautifully made. I would recommend it.

Throw blanket is as shown in the picture, colour is true to the picture and looks lovely in person. Only took off a star for the smell & dust the blanket seemed to come with (a wash was enough to help with that) and the feel of the blanket isn't really nice - I expected something more soft (many reviews have said it is soft) but it is not really soft at all and is definitely a rougher cotton. Its more decoration than function for me, which is fine because I bought it more for decoration than for actually using it as a blanket. It matches my other decor perfectly and looks great on the couch. It arrived quick.

Despite reading some negative reviews, I was really pleased with this blanket. It is exactly as pictured and looks great on my couch. Even though it is a bit thicker, it is still soft. It also had no odour.
