I thought I’d challenge myself by reviewing a glue bottle. I mean, what can you say about a glue bottle? And aren’t they all made in some giant factory in China or Taiwan? What distinguishes one glue bottle from another? I never really thought about it until now. So: this glue bottle has a red cap, which is a nice feature to have when you’re looking for the bottle among the usual mush mash of shop items in your shop (ok, my shop). Who dreams up such things? The bottle has a wider mouth than other glue bottles that have come and gone in my shop and that makes pouring glue from a five gallon jug easier. If you want to test your ability to keep from shouting obscenities allow a stream of wood glue from a jug to overwhelm the dime-sized spout of some glue bottles and run down the sides of the bottle. Mess! But this is less of a possibility with the wider mouth of the Rockler bottle. Does the bottle have a spout that you can cut at various spots along its length? It does. You don’t have to cut it at all except at the very tip if you want a very thin bead, although if you do this you need to know that a thin bead will dry pretty quick. Does the bottle squeeze well? Of course. They all do. What else? Durability? I expect the Rockler glue bottle to last as long as any other before the cap and its spout becomes so tattered from all the times you’ve had to manhandle dry glue from it or unscrew the cap with channel locks or pound on it with a hammer because dried glue has sealed it in place—or you’ve simply lost it. I’d say this is the duration of perhaps a year. Probably the squeeze bottles in diners for mustard and ketchup last longer but they don’t get the abuse doled out in a wood shop. If they were in a shop you’d see them much easier because of their yellow and red color, instead of the typical opaque color of all the glue bottles I’ve seen and which causes them to become invisible. It would probably be a good idea to gird the bottle with a strip of blue painters tape.

Met expectations

Bottles are perfect fo wood glue. They don’t clog like the snap close manufacturers snap close bottles. You just got to keep from losing the lid. It isn’t attached.

It's the only bottle that my Barge doesn't dry out in. Every one who I create cosplay props with only uses these bottles to dispense there contact glue when we need to glue in straight lines or small surface areas.
