LEGO Indiana Jones The Temple of Doom (7199)

My son asked for this item for Christmas. It was no longer available on Lego's website, nor could we find it in any store. We ordered it online through Amazon and had it shipped to Grandma's (which is where we celebrated the holidays). The payment process and shipping went very smoothly. To top it off, this Lego set provided several hours of entertainment for my son. He is good at building things and loves Lego's Indiana Jones series (he has had other sets in the past). This set was easy enough for him to put together without parental help (he is 8 years old) while also complicated enough to challenge him. It was possibly the single best gift he has ever received. The added bonus is that this set is functional as a toy. Many Lego sets are made just for building and tearing down, i.e. they don't DO anything once they are built. This toy is something that can be played with after it is built.

This set is quite expensive, and really needs a 13-adult person to assemble it. My husband said it took like four hours to assemble it and be sure everything worked properly. Overall, a fun toy if you are an Indy fan, but very time consuming and challenging for a younger child to do by themself.

This is a great Lego set to build and play with. Lots of action with moving carts, lots of characters, including a snake, and Indy even has his whip. Great fun for all involved, of all ages, and like the video game, you can always insert characters from other sets to keep things going.

Thought I was buying new and ended up with used and pieces color coded in the bag. Such a nightmare. Wish I never purchased.

Santa brought this gift to our 5 year old, who was thrilled to open the package. He's not at all thrilled with playing with it.With the help of family members he built the set, played with it for 15 minutes and walked away. It sat in the family room untouched for days, and now it's currently sitting in the corner of the playroom collecting dust.For the same price, LEGO City is a much better kit. A lot more parts, people, and opportnities to create stories. We're done with the 'branded' LEGO sets. They are very expensive compared to the LEGO classic sets, and not nearly as much fun for our son.
