The employer-provided keyboard was the cheapest of the cheap. Never used it. Used an old keyboard until this Cherry KC1000 was ordered and arrived.Cannot beat the feel of the keys for this price. The card reader works just fine and eliminates the need for a separate reader on the desk. It is amazing how something so simple as a keyboard can make work less painful. Given how the employer provided keyboard was absolute garbage (shame on Dell for putting their name on it, but I get it, when selling in bulk...), I don't mind spending my own money on a descent keyboard. I use this thing nearly every single day, so the keyboard should be good.I'm not saying this is the best keyboard ever and I am not saying this is gaming keyboard; I used it for work exclusively. There are high-end boards that sell for a LOT more money than this one. For the price, this is a good keyboard, you can't go wrong.I have been using this keyboard nearly every day for over three and a half years now. The most frequently used keys are now noticeably harder to press than when new. I could continue on with this one as it is not horrible, but I'm opting for a new one. This old one will get put on the shelf as a backup or spare for other projects. IMO this keyboard has held up well considering the price and use.Another quality Cherry product. No complaints.

On time arrival, well packed. I like the key action - gentle and positive. Integral Smart Card Reader recognizes cards (software download from Cherry.co.uk site) and seems OK, though not fully tested yet. Good value for the money.
