It will crack your egg but NO better than cracking it on the counter top. I have a disability & was told that this would make cracking my egg one handed much easier & I didn't find that to be true. As it turns out, it's just one more thing to wash!!!

I saw this recommended by Six Sisters' Stuff, and I had to get it. It was cheap enough that if it didn't work as well as I'd hoped, it wouldn't be a big deal. But it does. I was actually kind of shocked at how much I liked it. My husband was sure it would be a waste of money, but even he likes it. It really makes it easy to crack open the egg without shattering the side completely, getting shell in with it when you dump the egg into the bowl. And it keeps the egg goop that inevitably falls out (because I'm just that messy) from getting all over the table or counter. Crazy simple product, fantastic price, and worth every penny.

I absolutely cannot believe I'm doing this. I got this because I am ALWAYS having to pick out the shell when I crack an egg, whether for breakfast or my baking. Since buying this I have cracked "dozens" of eggs without ANY shells in it. To say I am happy is an understatement. If you don't have one you should rush to get one. We are going to get them for wedding gifts when we know that the couple loves to do their own cooking. Kudos to whoever thought of this. It works perfectly, every time.

While it may look nice, it’s unfortunately not designed/made very well to be truly useful. First off, it’s hard plastic and fairly lightweight. The main issue is that the underside is not flat and is also hard plastic, so not only does it slide around your countertop, it’s also a bit wobbly. I would gladly pay more for an item that had a soft rubberized bottom that made it more stable and prevented countertop scratches. This just ain’t it. I tied adding various rubber bumpers to the bottom, but again because the bottom isn’t flat, it never truly was stable. Hopefully they go back to the drawing board and improve the design so it’s more stable.

I've been cracking eggs off the edge of my stove for years, thinking the rounded "corner" would leave the yolks whole when they hit the egg hit the pan. Hardly. Since it's tradition for the cook to take the ugly/broken one of whatever's cooking, I've eating a lot of messed-up eggs over the past few decades.Not anymore. This little thing works like a dream! I used it yesterday to crack eggs for a cream pie, and had no "bleeding" yolks messing up the whites (one drop of fat from the yolks and your meringue is pitiful). I wish I'd have gotten one of these units years ago.

The first time I used the crack'em I really wasn't sure about the overall usefulness of this product. (In my mind it seemed like an over priced toy). But in the short time I've owned it, I've come to appreciate the utility of this little tool. For years I've cracked my eggs on the countertop or the edge of a butter knife and sure, (at least for me), cracking a dozen eggs has always made a significant mess. Though this product also requires cleaning after each use, I like that most of the mess and she'll bits are localized inside the crack'em.I have found that with a little practice this product really does break shells fairly uniformly. Rather than lay soiled tools directly on the counter top, this prouct also makes a nice rest for dripping spoons, spatulas and pancake ladles.Though not a deal breaker. If I have a single complaint about this product it has to be the price. At twelve dollars, I believe this little dish is significantly over priced for such a small molded item. Even so, I like this product. If my crack'em is damaged or misplaced, yeah...I do believe I would probably buy it again.

I have a college-aged son who enjoys occasionally trying out new recipes when he’s home. He’s slowly been learning various cooking skills, however he still had problems with one simple thing… cracking eggs without making a mess. When I saw this egg cracker/spoon rest, I knew I had to buy it as a stocking stuffer this past Christmas. When he first pulled it out, he looked at me quizzically. Once I explained what it was, he laughed and said he couldn’t wait to try it out. His first use of the product was in cracking eggs to make a pecan pie. The result? He was able to crack the eggs with no problems at all. Besides cracking eggs, this product can also be used as a spoon rest. Its one piece design makes it easy to use and clean for both these purposes. It’s often the simplest of things that can change our lives, and this product is proof of that… at least in the kitchen!

I love this little piece of plastic for cracking my eggs. It has just the right amount of sharpness so that a medium tap of the egg is all that is needed to put a half inch crack in the bottom of the egg. That lets you easily crack the egg the rest of the way into the pan without and shells. There is no egg or shells on your counter or egg slop on the side of the pan from cracking it there. Easy to clean. Color is nice. Simple but effective. I keep mine in the front of the drawer for most frequently used kitchen utensils.
