My 5yo had fun building, but definitely not designed for a kid his age. Pieces are very small and tear or bend easily causing some frustration. The diagrams are helpful, but should he twice the size to help younger kids (and older eyes). Very giftable and fun, just be aware that most younger kids will need a lot of help and may become frustrated. If they can follow Lego building instructions, they will probably do just fine.

After several failed attempts at winning on any bids through auction sites, it became clear that it would be a challenge all it’s own to get my hands on space related building sets. Like most parents, the time and energy spent to acquire a popular L*GO set for our kids is when some parents outshine others. The rest of us left empty handed in their shadows, are left behind blind from the brightness of their glory. Woe is We…but here, with this set…we rise up in our own glory! Your kid doesn’t get one expensive building set, they get several! And they’re cool, just like you Mom & Dad. Use that saved cash to purchase more sets for the flourishing minds of our youth.

Great for some quality time with your kid.My kid actually takes Saturn V to bed now (after I applied a liberal amount of CA glue).We assembled it together (he's preschool), and it was fun. Of course he lost interest mid-way, as kids do, but was adamant that I continue, and was thrilled when he got to hold the Space Shuttle (and "jettison" the boosters and main tank again and again).Very happy with it.

Got this for our 7 year old and it has kept him busy. He really enjoys these kinds of things and was able to them all on his own or with very little help. He even accidently broke a piece and managed to make it work. Highly reccomend.

I got this as a more exciting way to puzzle for my 9 year old son. He loved it. He has it on display in his room. Still intact. Very sturdy

My students really enjoyed the challenge of putting together the 3D puzzles. Not only was it fun but the puzzles looked great when finished. The instructions were easy to follow. I'd highly recommend this.
