Martin's Mice

For your chapter readers who love cats!

My two sons have really enjoyed this book. It was an easy read for my 9 year old and a little more taxing for my 7year old. Such a beautiful story for boys and girls to enjoy. We just could not put this book down. Our favorite book by DKS.

I read this book to my son's school class, as a way of introducing them to the chapter book concept. The kids just loved it, and did not even realize the important life lessons they were absorbing. Maaaany years later, I have now ordered it for his son. Money well spent.

A delightful read, Dick King Smith's "Martin's Mice" is one of my favourite stories that tells of curious cat Martin and his obsession with mice as potential pets, until one day he comes across a mouse, not knowing anything about pregnancy and that it will amount to more mice than he can manage.

If you are an animal lover as I am then you will enjoy this book. How I wish it were a longer story for adults. It’s such a fun read. The author is keen on knowledge of animals and adds little tid bits of info that add a realistic touch to the characters.I’m hooked on his stories. I bought several and each one unique. Other cute ones I’m reading now is Lady Lollipop and the Cat Lady.Where were these when I was little!? Ha. Oh well, never too late. Bought them for my son but they are now on my own night stand. Nothing like a funny short story to read before bedtime.
