Vanderbilt Family
This book is a quick read and a good, but also quick look, at the Vanderbilt family history from the time of the Commodore in the 1840’s until the death of Gloria Vanderbilt in 2019. The book is exactly what it claims to be: A brief history.

History of a New York family
The Commodore was Avery interesting person that could have lived in the 21st century. With his business sense and his drive, he pushed the US into the 200th century. His descendants were all interesting people with their own talents and although they have watered down the fortune built up by the Commodore, they all mostly still live a very opulent life. Loved reading this and highly recommend it if you're interested in Early American history!

A decent book
A good book about the family and their lives.

Basically an essay, and not a particularly good one.
Brief is right. This colorless booklet is painfully short and the prose is absolutely lifeless. It’s like an encyclopedia entry but less interesting. Shame on me for not reading the sample first. Lesson learned.

Think the two Gloria’s were confused ….perhaps I am confused. to be no distinct mention of Big Gloria and little Gloria.
