I like this addition and our Syrian hamster seems to enjoy the added space. I had been looking at cages for weeks and couldn't find one I thought was worthwhile. She likes to burrow so this allows us to put a good deal of bedding in the bottom and keep her food and toys in the top out of the way. The only negative I have is that the mesh wire is pretty thin and some places do have breaks which lead to pointy edges. Similar to what other reviews have stated. I bent them down and out of the way. Also, I used black zip ties to hold the ladders in place, out of fear she might knock one off and either fall or get stuck. Hint to putting the top shelf in...put the bent edge through from the OUTSIDE of the cage, feed it through to the opposite side. You cannot connect the shelf from inside the cage! I, again, used zip ties to hold it in place.

This product is amazing my gerbil loves it so much. He’s spends so much time on it then the tank bottom. The wires are strong and sturdy and not flimsy :) there is no way to escape out of it and the clips are super strong and there’s no way a hamster would be able to unlatch it. The House shape is a plus, I prefer this then having a regular rectangular shaped topper. It made my cage look beautiful. Because I was able to add more accessories to my hamsters cage.I give it 5 starts.

I love the fact the my baby (Honey) has more room for activities in the second floor of her cage, I added cardboard to the floor because I don’t like her walking on the mesh, on top I use newspaper to be able to change it often so the it doesn’t stink, the awesome thing about this is that she only pee upstairs in the newspaper and I can change it often (2nd picture) she does not pee on her bedding so I don’t have to change it as much because she stressed it out when we move her bedding down and mess with her food storage.I added extra floor space on top where she eats with cardboard and zip ties (1st.&3rd.photo) it works perfectly. The pink box it’s her sand box, she loves to chill there.I have a happy hamster and she loves her habitat!Please be kind to your hamsters and give them lots of bedding they feel protect it, they love to burrow.

Awesome for rats! We have 2 rats and they absolutely love the high rise!! They love that they can be much closer to us when they are up there.

This is the only tank topper that actually does fit on any 10 gallon tank! (I night and returned three others that were too wide)

Saw my mom had this for her hamster and I instantly loved it and asked her about it. She loved it and recommended it to try with rats. I had to get it. It is a little on the pricey side but so worth it. Really cool. I recommend it to anyone with a hamster or a pet rat.

My hammies love this penthouse addition to their cage. I keep the running wheel and food dish up top and keep their beds downstairs.It is great for them to have the ramp to run up and down to get to their food and running wheel.

Easy to assemble and easy to attach to the aquarium. My hamster loves it! The only issue I have is that the open/close hatch is hard to open. This is a good thing over all as hamsters are climbers and I do not want her to escape, but it is hard to open and feed/clean the cage.Great for a classroom to keep the kids fingers away from the hamster!

Even if you have a bigger tank, the High Rise Tank Topper will work, as seen in my photo!I highly recommend this product!The seller Sare is very organized and customer service is amazing!!!
