Don't be the naive fool that I was - AVOID this!
The reviews are so right when they said it didn't work (why didn't I listen?!)! This useless hunk of future landfill is the single worst product I've ever bought on Amazon. The fan isn't powerful enough to draw in dust let alone a flying insect. Literally dust could not be drawn in. As bad as my office is with the little blood suckers, I figured this trap (junk box) should catch mosquitos by the dozens. Boy was I wrong - it can't even accidentally catch a flying insect. To provide a balanced review, there is a positive side: It's still RETURNABLE! That's the positive - it's going back to Amazon and my money is coming back home to be spent on insecticides.

Looking forward to the true test: summer
We bought this late-season after an assault of mosquitos over the summer. But of course, by the time we bought it, the major surge had calmed down. Still, we set it up in our room each night and let it run... and still had a few bugs in by morning on a consistent basis. It does give off a light (the whole point of attracting mosquitos) so if you need total darkness for sleep, you'll want to get creative of where it goes. But from the first night of turning it on, I didn't have to swat at the air around my head even once... so I'm calling it a success! To be clear - this is an INDOOR trap.. with coverage of one room. I read some reviews complaining it didn't rid them of mosquitos outside (or a whole house)... and it doesn't claim to. If you have realistic expectations... this meets them.

Caught little gnats we didn't even know were in our house
I had a mosquito problem in my house for a couple of weeks. Me and my wife were finding new bites on us everyday and we couldn't seem to find or catch the culprit. I found this item and thought for sure it was probably a scam or one of those products that doesn't deliver on its promises. I was wrong. After a couple of nights of leaving this on a window sill it was packed with bugs, including the mosquitos who were biting us every night. The fan is super quite and you can't even notice it, its quieter that the fan that cools a computer. The light it uses to attract the bugs is pretty bright, so bright I wouldn't suggest using in the bedroom. Even after the mosquitos were gone I still use it and it still catches the little bugs that seem to get in when you open doors and windows. This is will be worth its wait in gold when summer/mosquito season comes around.

They Work
I'll admit, this is my third one of these bug catchers. The first I ran continuously and it got too hot and the center pivot cracked, making it off balance so it rattled horribly. That one was replaced by the company. The second one I knocked over onto a tile floor and the center pivot cracked again. I didn't immediately replace it because I didn't really use it all that much at the time. Then we had a mosquito infestation from nowhere on our back porch and they kept getting inside. So I got this one. It works great. I turn it on a few hours before bed or whenever we are going in and out of the back door a lot and it does catch bugs. Sound-wise it does hum but it's pretty easy to relegate to the background. Overall, it really helps me not get eaten alive by mosquitoes in my home.

Excellent contraption
I have a blue and gold macaw and somehow ended up with some little fruit flies in one of his batches of food. Could not get rid of them for anything. I can't use aerosols or other bug killers due to the bird. Set this up on the floor next to his cage, within 3 days I saw a difference. Within a week they were 90% gone. Stuck to the pad at the bottom of the container. Easy to replace the adhesive pads even for someone who may have limited use of hands. Worked so well, bought a 2nd for the kitchen since saw a few in there (bananas, we eat alot of them). After a month, no bugs anywhere in the house. Even caught a few larger flies. And the LED works great as a nightlight in the kitchen. Worth the purchase.

Works at night only, slowly
Overall this is a nice idea hat actually works (sloooooooly) with a poorly thought out product design. After several days, the mosquito that had been annoying us was found in the bottom of this thing, as promised. Good but slow. The unit itself is awkward to use:• The power port is halfway up the side, and the cord is fairly short. The combination limits where the unit can be placed.• Opening the bottom tray is a clunky process, in part due to the power cord port placement.• The sticky pads to catch bugs lose their adhesion fairly quickly, possibly due to the fan forcing air over them constantly.Power and light switches are easy-access.

Doesn't do much for gnat infestation
Ok...so this thing was super easy to hook up, but not to good at catching gnats. I have had a gnat infestation for the last 5 days. I was using the good old fashion way of obliterating them by using an Apple Cider Vinegar, sugar, and a couple drops of Dawn detergent solution, but I was not happy with the speed of this process, so I bought this contraption. It looks cool, is super quiet(about 30 decibels), but it isn't catching any gnats. I finally put a glass of wine, the same height as the contraption, and set it right up against it. There was enough air flow that if a gnat got close to the glass, it would get sucked in. Overnight, it caught10 gnats. Over the last 5 days, my Apple Cider Vinegar had caught about 300. So my conclusion is that this does not work so well with gnats. I'm returning it for a refund. Here is the recipe for the Apple Cider solution, just in case you don't want to search for it.1 qt of Apple Cider Vinegar3 tbs of Sugar3 drops of dishwashing detergent.(Changes the density of the Vinegar, so they can't just eat and run.)

Works well, cheap fan
This product worked surprisingly well. I run it for about 10 hours every night and it catches a bunch of little flying bugs that make it through my window screens. The only thing that is disappointing is the quality of the fan. The fan seems to be an extremely cheap PC fan and it was out of balance from the beginning causing it to vibrate. After about a month of use the fan is starting to make bearing noise. It probably won’t last much longer and does not appear to be easy to replace. I will try to replace the fan with a better one when the time comes and update this review then.
