Soft, like a nice memory foam bath mat
My dog fell asleep on this hard the first night. I moved it to where I bought it for, and she hasn’t laid on it since! It’s easy to clean and is very soft and plush, seems like it has some good quality memory foam. If you think your dog would use this, then I recommend it, even if my dog doesn’t!

Only lasted a day :(( updated 2/2019
UPDATE: 2/2019: Purchase was made 12/2018. I’m updating my review as agreed to with Cassandra @ dogbed4less. While we weren’t able to initially reach an amicable solution, she recently reached back out to me to do so. With that in mind my “product review” remains, 2-stars. BUT I’m pleased to update my overall review inclusive of fine customer service; insofaras having a resolve I find very acceptable to remedy my specific situation. As I originally stated this is a fine product if it meets your dog needs, sadly it did not meet my “girls” needs, thus 2-stars. For my pointing lab Labrador retrievers (2 of my 3 girls) they can not tolerate shredded poly fill. I believe it to be an allergy or irritant and not just found in dog bedding. In human bedding, some toys. Shredded poly fill simply doesn’t work for our 2 chocolate labs. All from same breeder and bloodlines (same daddy, 3 diff mamma’s). The black one has no issue. No doubt for many this will be a fine and quality product. My most sincere thanks to Cassandra for her diligent follow up and assistance to reach a resolution. For that reason I have changed my overall rating to 4-stars.No dog bed is chew proof, us doggie moms n dads know that! Sadly, foam is made with something (poly?) our lab had terrible aversion to :(( we have 3 labs. 2 of 3 do not like bedding with this filling. In this instance, she incessantly scratched n scratched until cover tore exposing fill. Then imagine a pillow fight with pillow exploding, oh my!! Filling filling everywhere.Since we used as crate bedding it’s not something you realize until it’s way too late! I wouldn’t call it a chewing problem I’d call it a filling product problem. I did ask seller if they would work with me to find or recommend a replacement. Or even credit a portion of cost toward a replacement with diff filling. For me, a waste of money bc of filling that lasted a day. If your dog is ok with this type of filling then it’s an excellent choice. Nice cover, color and feel of fabric. Just didn’t work for us. Our “girls” r def consistent w aversion to this type of filling.

Super comfortable, doesn't hold up to being washed.
I have Saint Bernards and this is a great compromise of a bed for them. Typically they don't like big fluffy beds because they overheat too quickly. This gives my biggest guy some softness and support without being on the hard floor and he doesn't overheat on it. The problem is cleaning it is a nightmare. spot cleaning it is easy. But if anything else gets on it, like he had an accident recently and some diarrhea splattered on about a third of it, trying to wash it is nearly impossible. The first time this happened I washed it by hand and sprayed it down in the driveway. This caused a few cracks in the backing. I put it on a wire platform in order to let the air circulate and it dried in the hot summer sun in a couple of days and was like new minus the cracks on the back. The second time it is now fall and cold and rainy and I don't quite have the luxury to leave it outside in the hot sun. I tried putting it in the washer very gently and it has completely fallen apart on the back. I am sad because it is such a fabulous pad. he has a 4-in orthopedic dog bed in his crate and when he sleeps outside of his crate right next to it he loves this gel pad. Needless to say for the money I spent I am very sad that washing it and cleaning it has nearly destroyed it. So beware if you need to wash this, you may have a problem with it. Other than that, it is a fabulous bed and absolutely perfect for my biggest boy.

My pups really enjoy these
I have an older dog that has trouble getting up on the tile floors. I bought these and put them around the house where she normally lies. Now she chooses to lie on them because they are cooler than a dog bed. I often find her lying with her front body off the mat on the cool tile and her hind end on the mat so it’s easier for her to get up. Would not recommend for young dogs who still chew. When my other one was younger, he loved to shred these.

Love at first mat!
We are so addicted to this mat! And I mean we, my dogs and me! I bought it because we were moving and I was planning to create a doggie room and have this mat for them to sleep on when it’s hot and they don’t want their fuzzy, warm beds. The plan was for it to be in the new house..was....because I brought it out of package to test it out and let me tell you, I laid on it and fell asleep with my dogs on it too Lol. Since then they haven’t left the my alone. Yes if you fold it and put force on the back it will probably rip on the plastic so instead roll it as it came, I learned that when I folded it and put a small flat tv on it. But it’s so worth it when you see your little or big doggies fall asleep for hrs on it and for yourself as a memory foam mat. Very recommended. It’s now in my new living room as we are barely settling in. If I ever get their room done lol I’ll show pics of it with their ahem I mean our mat!

Great bed for several reasons!
I have about 5 of these. Love them. They seem to last a long time except for my dog-who-likes-to-lick. My German Shepherd loves to lick the material (she also licks rugs, floors, etc.!!!), and one of the first ones I bought (about 2 years ago) finally wore out in one spot. Since the rest of the mat was still usable, I simply put a spare dog bed cover on it and it works fine. The other 4 are still in great condition after much use. I also like the fact that the bottom side is kind of a rough material and grips the floor, thereby assisting my older, arthritic dog to get up in the morning or after a nap. (Yes, he loves this product even though he also loves his orthopedic bed which I bought from the same seller, Dogbed4less).Be aware that you cannot wash these in a washing machine and expect it to come out well. I tried it on one and it still works for its purpose but doesn't look quite as pretty and took forever to dry outside in the summer heat! I notice that now the instructions say NOT to machine wash it. Just wipe it off as needed. I do vacuum mine and it looks just like new as long as I'm careful not to have the vacuum suction too high.
