Lee still a hero to me
I have read numerous books on Robert E. Lee and Call of duty rates up there in my top 5. The way the book covers every aspect of the Generals life from birth to death is thorough.Breaking down the chapters by subjects gives the reader an inside look of Lee's thoughts and personality that not many volumes on Him have covered.I know now a days anything to do with the civil war and the confederate side is not popular. If people would take the time to read Call of duty "the sterling nobility of Robert E. Lee" they would se that Lee was a great man and a great american General as all.

Worst Book I have Ever Read on a Military Leader -- Deserves O Stars
This was clearly the worst book I have ever read on any military leader throughout history and on any subject of the Civil War. The author places much of his own skewed views and opinion (not based on facts) with far too much preaching and religious twist. This was my first book and encounter with Robert E Lee and if my opinion were based on exclusively what I read here, I would be of the opinion that Robert E Lee was a two faced, double standard individual who justified many of his actions on religious fervor. From reading this book, it appears that Robert E Lee was in favor of slavery under some conditions, but his fight had nothing whatsoever to do with slavery. If I looked at the leadership of this man from this book alone, I would not see what made him a better leader than anyone else. The author appeared to me to take a stance between an apologetic and justifier of views which may not be readily acceptable now but may have been by some at the time. I expected to see the leadership qualities of this man and how he tackled problems, which I could then apply, but this was not the case. There was very little leadership material in this book. This book was neither a historical biography nor a book on leadership and quite honestly was a complete waste of money. I would not recommend it to anyone and would give it 0 stars if I could.

I good 'second opinion' read.
Finally something that makes sense and it's written by a pastor.Poutting Abe declared war on Lee because Lee chose home defense. This is my second copy of this book. I loaned out the first and it never came home.
