The only way this could be a better publication is if there were workbooks as accompaniment
This book illustrates the same type of writing we were taught in school, back in the days when learning how to write mattered and we were graded on it. This is the real deal. The only way this could be a better publication is if there were workbooks as accompaniment. Back when you were taught how to address an envelope. I feel it is sad that the post office employees are now stuck with that task because neither parents, nor schools can be bothered.

basics of copperplate calligraphy
In calligraphy, it is important to learn a technique as copperplate because it makes a more well-rounded calligrapher. It is used in addressing envelopes, signing certificates, or any work that uses formal script. This book calls for a Mitchell copperplate pen point and covers basic strokes, minuscules, joining letters, and numerals.

Excellent resource for learning Copperplate
I purchased this book as a supplement to the videos I had been watching on YouTube. The style and technique used in this book is slightly different from the videos adding diversity to what I had already learned. The book teaches you all of the lower case letters stroke by stroke in the beginning then follows up with upper case and numerals. There are three different sized guide sheets in the final pages which can be copied and used under your practice paper for guides. The only thing this book lacks is a full exemplar of the lower case. This book is a photocopy reprint of the original, there is a bit of rasterizing but it is by no means detrimental. It is certainly made up in the price.

Copperplate Style
I found this book to be very useful in achieving a structured hand writing. The book shows you exercises to perform if you want a better penmanship. Remember book is useless unless you practice, practice, practice.

not well edited
It's ok for beginners...but it's not well designed and well edited.the way the content organized was very not easy to understand and follow...I want a page that lists all lowercase letters so I can have a easy reference when I practice, it doesn't have it. I have to look back and forth to find how to write a lowercase letter that I want. There's not enough examples of paragraph written in copperplate style. only one page of some city's name, that's not enough for practice...and its a 32 pages(6 of them are blank) book, Black&white, a lot of words and not enough examples...doesn't worth $6.

My favorite calligraphy book.
My favorite calligraphy book for this script. Brief explanations of each letter then pictoral examples given.

I like their examples of capitals
This is a nice book to have, but if you are going to purchase just one Copperplate book, I would highly recommend Eleanor Winters: Mastering Copperplate Calligraphy (which I also bought on Amazon). (As it happens, Winters taught my calligraphy teacher many years ago.) Her examples are laid out very clearly, and the book you are considering treats the letters in a similar manner, but the letters and the guidelines seem scratchier - they are on smooth paper, but it's as though the text is reprinted from a rougher-toothed paper. See if you can see inside both books and you will see what I mean. If you don't want to spend the extra $10 - Winters' book is quite thick, as she includes examples of invitations, advice on creating well-spaced documents and other things - I am sure you can work well with Kaufman & Homelsky. If you can afford the Winters book, however.....
