Works extremely well even on my cement Marcite pool.
Note: This one comes with 3 weights. They are removable and you can also move them to different positions for the best configuration for your application.I asked Amazon Answers about using this on a cement pool. I got some good responses. My pool is only about 11,000 gallons and I wanted a device that would vacuum and brush at the same time. When I received this the box said for vinyl/fiberglass, but when I asked, others on Amazon Answers said they had used it successfully on a cement pool.I tried it and it worked well. I had some algae stains on the Marcite, as well as the rest of the dirt in pools. This cleaned it all up quite well. Here is where there is a caution! One needs to reduce the suction on the hose so it can move on the surface. I left the weights in. Here is the tricky part and it just takes practice. You can pull it to you OK, but you definitely can not push it away on a cement pool. It got so it was relatively easy for me to do. On the sides, I just pushed it straight down.I love this unit, it's sturdy, well built, and to me the brushes look rugged. I had no problems with it at all on my Marcite pool. This all said, if you don't want to practice with this unit to get the hang of using it on a cement pool, it's probably not for you. I liked it because I could get really stubborn dirt off the Marcite and I was able to vacuum and brush at the same time. Whatever, you do need to reduce the suction on the hose, otherwise, you'll never get it to move on a Marcite pool, for example. For me, it's a miracle unit and it is absolutely well built and not cheap junk like some of the lower cost units. It was worth every penny for me.

AMAZING!
This vacuum seriously blows my mind! I went out of town for July 4th during a massive heatwave and my pool filter stopped working and everything turned green in literally 10 days! I got all the chemicals back in order, but there was still algae/discoloration that would form over every surface the day after I would brush. I got this along with this skimmer basket attachment (a MUST if you want it to work properly) and a hose and vacuuming the floor of my pool looked like a TV commercial! You could literally see the clean line where I was vacuuming. The trick is making sure you have a GREAT suction. A YouTube video taught me to attach the hose to the device and then put the end of the hose against your jet to push water all the way through the hose. You will know water has gone through the hose completely when you see water coming out of the device, then quickly and carefully attached the hose to the skimmer basket cover without getting air into the hose and you will feel the super strong suction. My pool has a little fitting where I should be able to attach the hose directly, but that doesn't work as well as the skimmer basket attachment. This works WAY better than the $1000 robot vacuum Ive purchased. It's hard to get the correct angle to vacuum the walls, so I brushed the walls down and when everything settled on the floor I would vacuum the floor.

cleans and sweeps well
this is my first real bottom vacumn, the seal to the pool surface, easy assembly, heavy enough to sink and stay sunk. It is a must have for the pool. A leaf cannister is the perfect combination.

Good But.....
I bought the “upgraded” version which the upgrade is three lead perimeter weights. Certainly better at staying down with those weights. Issue is the top and bottom do not “click” together and only stay together if you have the hose connected (I used the threaded connection). Once you separate the hose for storage the head until falls apart which means you can only store it flat and can’t hang in the wall to save space in the pool shed. Guess I could glue or tape it shut but that seems like a little riggin that shouldn’t have to be done.Other than that so far so good.

Pool vacuum
Great vacuum. Does just as good a job as the expensive one that came with my pool. Definitely recommend

The main unit is fine but the brushes are completely worn out after 3 ...
Bought this in 2012, 4 years old now.The main unit is fine but the brushes are completely worn out after 3 seasons. $23 bucks for a replacement set of 3. Nothing really different than other plastic pool parts that live in a chlorine and UV harsh environment. Pools are just constantly expensive, if you want a pool it seems you just need to learn to live with the expenses. My wife wants the pool so, meh.Pros:It's really pretty small so if vacuuming your pool for hours is calming and meditative for you, this is just want you want. It's clear so you watch it suck in the gook off the bottom of your pool!Cons:It's really pretty small so if vacuuming your pool is stress inducing because you ain't got time for that, then you don't want this.Brushes wear out pretty fast.

Yeah it's expensive but it's the Best
I agree ridiculously expensive but I will say it is the best I have used . I just purchased this deluxe that by the way comes with the weights included and used it this morning cleaning the pool bottom. It is a learning curve to use as it sticks to the bottom when almost upright cleaning. That being said it cleans unbelievable, Yes it's that good and when extended out it will not raise up with the weights in it. I am impressed with this . Yeah it's not cheap but it works EXCELLENT and is well made for a lifetime

Awful!
The quality of the head is superb, but, like many others have mentioned, the brushes do not last! After not more than three or four uses, I went to vacuum my pool and found all the bristles had fallen out into a neat little pile beneath the head. On top of that, replacement brushes are around $20, almost as much as the cheaper head that I was hoping to replace. Since they don't even last as long as the $25 head...I'm better off buying the cheap junk once or twice a year. What a disappointment! On top of all that, I see the price of this unit has increased about $15 since I purchased one not even a year ago. Don't waste your money.
