Q: Can you use in the rain?

Basic answer: NO. There are power cords designed for outdoor use. This is not one of them.

Q: will this fit under a closed window? i am wanting to mount nest IQ outdoor camera where there is no outdoor plug

Depends upon your window. The thickness of this cord is just under 3/16”. If a regular extension code keeps window from closing this will to. If you have metal windows it can be very dangerous, deadly even. In any case running AC power through a window is a code violation. A better long term option is to use a wired POE camera (low voltage powered). Alternatively have an electrician add an outdoor recptical. Best luck.

Maybe on a porch. It does not have a waterproof receptacle. Think of it like indoor/outdoor Christmas lights which when installed should not be in water. If using outside or near water source(kitchen, bath, laundry) must use GFI outlet only. GFI=Ground Fault Interrupter.

Q: can you use this cord under a rug

I suppose you could. There would still be a small lift. From my understanding it is a fire hazard to run a cord under a rug. Not being critical, just safe. Best wishes.
