This computer starts up very quickly. That's a good thing because it seems to restart frequently because of "unforseen problems". This has been a little irritating, but I hope it resolves itself eventually.Update: The first one of these laptops I got was glitchy. I asked for a replacement and Amazon sent me one immediately. This new laptop is a great machine for the price.

About a month past the warranty date, one of the hinges broke for no reason. (I did NOT drop it, my husband did not drop it, and no one else had been in our house.) Since then, the case has continued to deteriorate, even though I've had the damaged hinge clamped and been even more careful with it. The screen is pulling away from the case, and the other hinge is starting to go. Pretty soon, it will be unuseable.I bought my first laptop about 25 years ago, and have had several personal and work ones since, and I've NEVER had one constructed so poorly. I'm very disappointed.

The item was top-notch! Very speedy delivery. Quality of the wrapping was proud.

Home use

This laptop was not dropped or damaged and was not used that much. One day I heard a "click" sound when opening the screen but couldn't see what happened. After repeated opening/closing over the span of a day the entire thing was unusable. The entire screen pulls away and reveals the electronics inside. I tried to figure out what happened so I could fix it but realized that whole thing was shoddily made. Multiple failure points. Really bad design and/or construction. Save your money and do not buy.

I purchased this laptop in 2021. After 1 year of usage the screen started braking apart from the keyboard and it looked like it was going to damage the wires that go to the screen as I could see them from where it was braking. I got it fixed because it was still under the warranty. That was in 2022, now a year later the same issue is happening again. This is not a damage caused by dropping or any other type of accident, it is simply a thing that happens to this computer after about a year of regular usage (opening and closing the laptop). I believe the screws that attach both parts and the plastic where the metal hinges are attached to are not very well designed to withstand the repetitive action of opening and closing. Now, if you plan to use this laptop like a regular person and not leaving it always open on your desk than DON'T BUY THIS. I am very frustrated with this product. Other than this physical damage that eventually might lead to the total destruction of the screen and cease my ability to use it, it is still working software wise.

I was excited to buy my own laptop. Then I needed technical support with installing software and troubleshooting. When I called Dell, they said the laptop doesn't belong to me. My mouth dropped, I had to give them access to remotely see my receipt on Amazon where i purchased the laptop before they could troubleshoot, even then, they offered little help. When I asked them whose name it was under, they said it is confidential. Eventually, after several calls, someone told me it belonged to a "Anthony O" (I am not providing full name deliberately). So, I had to go through a rigorous process of changing the ownership of the laptop to my name, which I am still crossing my fingers to be successful because it takes about 8 business days and thankfully after many trials, I was lucky to find a patient, helpful and knowledgeable Dell representative.

Purchased this for my husband and just like everyone els the hinge broken it’s never been dropped or damaged in any way. We contacted them and of the warranty is out. This is a known problem and they won’t do the what’s right and fix it. Won’t ever be purchasing Dell again.
