Compared to Bose Sport
As I own both the QC and the Sport, I thought I'd highlight the differences between the two-The QC's sit more tighter against the ear. Their "presence", ie comfort, is felt more strongly than the Sport which feels more invisible and easier to wear for longer periods of time, with I'm sure the larger size of the QCs being a contributing factor. However the QCs will stay in place when running which was a concern.-The QCs have a slightly bigger sound stage than the Sport.-Both headphones sometimes have difficulty connecting to my iphone 11. I sometimes have to put the buds back in the case and remove and/or cycle the phone power. It's not often but enough to make note of. Not sure who is the blame here but I have a feeling the Apple air pods don't have this issue.-QC noise reduction is better than my old QC30's the now disconnected neckband style but not as good as QC35 IIs I have compared with. I'm sure this has a lot to do with the close loop design of the QC35's.-Can't comment on phone quality between the two but reviews say the QCs are superior.I originally bought the Sports but was disappointed in the sound quality. It seems maybe being sport exercise buds, Bose cranked up the bass as the expense of midtones. A much more "thumpier" sound than I was used to from Bose. Some online reviews I read, echoed my findings. When their was a sale on the QCs, I tried them and the sound was more balanced with a bigger sound stage than the Sports. Then lo and behold I found out Bose finally came out with a long overdue equalization app. I can now tailor the sound stage for the Sport more to my liking but still the QCs have a slight edge. I use the Sports at work, the gym and running outside. I used the QCs around the house and for outside walks. When I'm in a safe zone such as sidewalks, I turn on the NR which will din out the traffic slightly. Doesn't do much for the barking neighborhood dog though. When I'm walking the cemetery paths where cars can sneak up on me, I put it in aware mode which does a good job of allowing and amplifying the background noises.I honestly am not quite sure what to think of the QCs. For exercise purposes, they are not as comfortable as the Sports. Yet again if one wants more noise reduction, the over the ear models do a better job. Maybe if exercising at the gym with combination of noise reduction is important, the QCs are a better fit.. I see some people wear big over the ear headphones at the gym but they are not for me as my ears need to breathe and I don't wish to trap in the sweat. Both the Sport and QCs sound quite good but QCs will give you a little bit more.

Fantastic
I got a pair of Bose QuiteComfort ear buds two months age and lost them. I really liked them but thought I would check out Sony WF-1000XM4. They both got great reviews. I ordered a pair of each to see which one I liked better. I would keep the ones I liked better and return the other pair.My main priorities were 1) Comfort/Security. 2) noise cancelation. 3) sound quality. 4) Style/Function1)The Bose silicon umbrella tips were more comfortable than the memory foam tips of the Sony. I had a pair of Jaybird 2’s that had the foam tips and they would wear out about every month, so wear and tear is an issue with the memory foam. The Bose sealed my ear better from ambient noise due to the tighter fit. I couldn’t get the Sony’s deep enough to get could sound.2) the noise cancellation was way better with the Bose. I would attribute that to the better sealing tips more that the hardware. I tested both at the gym and a crowded bar. The Bose far exceeded the Sony.3) the Bose sounded much better especially the bass. The Sony’s sounded great if I pushed them in and held them but they just wouldn’t go deep enough. The Bose are louder by a click.4) Style and Function. The Sony’s win in this style category as the case is much smaller. Function I am going with the Bose for this main reason. I use my earbuds on my Phone, Desktop, Laptop, Tablet and TV. You can pair up to 7 devices with the Bose and you can cycle through the different devices using the Bluetooth button on the case. The Sony’s can only pair up to one device at a time. You have to unpair from your phone and then pair to a new device. Then unpair and repair to you phone. For me the Bose just fit better and were more comfortable which made the sound and block sound better. With the only draw back was the bigger case.

Compromises, but ultimately my keepers
I compared these for a solid week against the Sony 1000MX4's, and ended up keeping the Bose, but it was not a slam dunk for the Bose. It came down to fit. The Sony's sound is just flat out amazing. But the fit made them impossible to use long term. I chose the Bose because they got the single most important thing right: the fit, and the sound was acceptably good, and ANC is amazing.PROS of BOSE:- Fit. I have to sometimes fiddle around with these but once you get them seated, they remain in your ears and do not hurt. (Unlike the Sony's). I use them for mowing the grass, working out at the gym, talking to mom and for closing out the world and immersing myself in my music while I write software.- Noise cancellation is remarkably good. I had them on while working at the kitchen sink and someone came in and tapped my on the shoulder and wondered why I left the disposal running. I couldn't hear its grinding/growling sounds even though it was only a few feet away, and I forgot I had turned it on! On my first use of these at the gym, I was thinking the ANC was just okay. Then I turned it off and holy smokes I realized just how noisy the gym is -- so much white noise -- then I turned the ANC back on and became a believer. Bose is the ANC king.- Good sound. Better than my powerbeats pro, which these replace. Not as good as Sony. The Sony sound is so open and alive and immersive. While the Bose sounds good, it sounds "softened" or maybe "flattened" in comparison to the Sony. If the Sony's fit like the Bose, I would have kept them and sent the Bose back in a nanosecond because of the sound difference (I still wonder if I made the right choice.. maybe I should have tolerated bad fit and falling out of the Sony's... just to get that *amazing* sound :))Cons:- Controls. The things you can do with taps and swipes is limited. Yes, they added the ability to change volume with a swipe but it's very fussy. Often it interprets my swipe as a tap and it performs a pause instead. Ugh. It annoys me that I can't repeat a track with taps.- Sound. Step up your game. The sound is good but Bose's "signature warm sound" is getting old, and many people prefer a more open , live soundstage once they hear it. Bose don't let the idea that you need to keep your "signature sound" make you blindly cling to it.

UPDATE: NOT WORTH IT. -- Risk of losing an earbud is *almost* worth it
UPDATE February 21, 2022: NOPE - NOT WORTH IT.<b>After several months of use, I loathe these earbuds.</b>- They remain connected and often end up triggering my iPhone to continue playing even after I separate and take out both buds. This causes them to lose battery power, drain my phone battery, and mess up whatever status of the book/podcast/music I'm listening to.- In addition, I've found that the microphone sound quality is HORRIBLE, particularly on phone calls.- My worst nightmare came true, the earbud fell out of my ear in the dark outside. NOT. COOL. (Again, I've tried all three tips included in the package for comfort and attempted a snug fit but they are still easy to knock out of my ears.)- The shortcut and volume control do not work the way I need them to when I'm consciously tapping or swiping for volume, but somehow they are UBER SENSITIVE when I'm putting on a scarf or hat or even just adjusting my hair out of my face. This is by far one of the most annoying situations. >:(As a huge fan of Bose, this is by far the most disappointing product I've purchased from them. Sorry, Bose, I had to return these earbuds. They have only caused me grief and remorse since I invested in them and, they simply cost way too much for me to keep them.-=-=-=-Summary: The sound quality is great, the N/C is decent, the fit is ok but may not work as well for all ears and securing the bud so it doesn't fall out may always be an issue. Battery life & conservation could do with some work. Bose Music app should be backwards compatible with older generation Bose devices.Comfort and ear fit:I have been nervous about buying & wearing non-tethered type earbuds because 1) they hurt after wearing for some time, and 2) they do not stay in my ears.Despite adjustments using the different-sized rubber tips, I am still hesitant to use these in environments where I can lose them (i.e. anywhere outside my house.) They've fallen out of my ears with a simple bump—this happens even when I've attempted to secure the buds by wearing a hat. Thankfully, it hasn't happened while washing dishes and the times I've tried walking outside I've managed to catch the bud before dropping/stepping on it.I'm delighted to say my ears aren't sore from wearing them after several "drain-the-battery" tests, which is just under the advertised 6-hour performance.Noise-cancellation (N/C) and sound quality:While not as good as over-the-ear versions (that's probably obvious to some degree if it's about getting a proper seal), I like the 4 different N/C modes to choose from and customize. I am particularly fond of the "Aware" mode that adjusts N/C automatically. The Bose standard for sound is upheld in these little buds and the Bose Music app allows for equalizer adjustments if you get fussy. No complaint on how good things sound with these.Price and Bose Music app:I splurged on Black Friday for these because Apple buds are WAAAAY too expensive & I've always found them excruciatingly painful to wear after an hour. I'd love to do a comparison, but I don't have the capital to invest in trials. ;)The Bose Music app is a great improvement from the Bose app, allowing finer adjustments to settings and some great information displays about the connected Bose device. Unfortunately, each app is built for different generations of devices and they do not overlap, making it frustrating to manage the different Bose devices I have.Battery life & auto-shutoff:The buds do not appear to have an automatic shut-off/standby function like other Bose headphones. This is especially frustrating if I have to quickly drop them into my pocket, only to find that the battery has drained when I retrieve it for use later. Finally, I am annoyed that the Bose QC buds stay connected even after docking them for charging in the case. It seems automatically disconnecting from a source would be an obvious function.Overall, not bad, decent-to-good for value, but would love to see these issues addressed in future iterations.-=-=-

Excellent earbuds with outstanding Noise Cancellation
Well I’ve tried various earbuds AirPods Pro, LG Tone Free, Cambridge Audio Melomania too name a few and none of these would fit properly then I thought I’ll give these Bose QC earbuds a try here’s my breakdown :Pro’s : FitExcellent fit, for me this was the most important thing as wearing earbuds you need a secure seal if not they will come loose and start too feel like they will fall out and also features like ANC will be affected for me these are the best earbuds with ear tips I’ve tried for my ears possibly could be due too the fact they have wing tips, also the ear tips don’t go directly into your ear canal that could maybe why.ANC :Absolutely outstanding, with Quiet Mode activated all my surroundings are completely blocked out all I can hear is my music, noisy GYM equipment is blocked out as well as the GYM radio. Aware mode is an excellent feature if you want too hear your surroundings and for having a conversation with someone you don’t have too keep removing the earbuds.GYM use :No complaints here, they just stay in place I sweat a lot when working out and my ears soak with sweat but they don’t budge at all, I’m not a runner so unsure how secure they’ll be doing that type of exercise.Sound quality :Out of the box these sounded terrible too me, harsh treble very flat sounding distorted sound, then checking on someone else’s review on amazon who mentions tweaking the EQ settings too Bass +6 Mid -5 Treble +5, what a difference In the sound everything seems too open up more and the sound has more detail much better than out the box, with the new firmware update you no longer have the option too set the ANC levels the only options you have are Quiet Mode or Aware Mode.Charging case :Yes it’s big but not massively heavy like some reviews on YouTube state, it’s definitely not ideal for trouser pockets which can be a pain if you don’t have a carry bag with you so when out walking I just have too leave it at home but overall I like the design off the case but just not as portable as the AirPods 2 case for example. USB c charging is very quick and the light indicators flashes when charging is very cool.Overall I’m very happy with these earbuds the most important things for me was the fit and the ANC which for me are the QC earbuds shining moment. Overall the sound quality is excellent but not fantastic the positive is there are EQ settings as out the box these sound terrible. The earbuds are big but not overly my ears are small and I think they look fine in my ears, the main thing for me is they fit which for my requirements the Bose QC earbuds fit that purpose.
