G E Lighting 93880 GE2F96T12 Ballast

The installation instructions are excellent. This ballast is much lighter weight and is considerably smaller than the old magnetic ballast I was replacing so the original hold-down screw needed to be relocated in my case. Fortunately, my fixture had a hole in the exact right location for this ballast but that hole was not tapped so, rather than using a smaller screw that would clear the hole, I just ran an 10-32 tap through the hole and then reused my original screw and nut to secure the new ballast. A clearence hole would be fine too if you have three hands (or if you have some tape handy to keep the screw from pushing up out of the hole while trying to start the nut). You will need some extra wire nuts to wire up the new ballast if you're replacing an older magnetic style and you will have to cut and strip some wires, so have the necessary tools ready for that. Depending on where the power comes in to your fixture, you may need to splice in some additional lengths of wire to make everything reach. I just cut the black and white wires from my original ballast close to the ballast and used those pieces to extend the incoming power, which worked fine. Pay close attention to the pictures in the instructions. Wire as shown in those pictures and you won't go wrong.

fits is fine it takes up much less space and is much lighter.Works perfect, Just ordered six more to complete changing all the ballast in my shop. Now all will be wired the same, they work perfect.
