Dollar for dollar you cannot get a better smart street helmet.
I recently bought a Quin Spitfire Rosso helmet. I have been riding for a little over a year, and slowly upgrading my safety gear. Prior to my Quin, I was using a Fulmer AF-2 full face helmet that is about 25 years old. I love my new helmet!Instantly I notice that the helmet fits very well. I matched size for size (large) from the Fulmer. The cheek pads are in the right place and the helmet physically holds my head better. I also like the removable and washable liner - my old helmet is difficult to wash and... well... it stinks. The Quin is also noticeably lighter. The ventilation is superior in every way. I cannot understate this. When the top vents are open, I could actively feel the air moving inside the helmet. Nice! I am also a fan of the chin curtain - even though it was most likely designed for noise suppression on the phone system.Which brings us to the million dollar question - how is the audio quality? In a word, good. The audio quality is good.I found that for music, it actually sounded better at speed than at sitting still. The quality of the signal is good, clear, and loud. The bass response isn't amazing, but it is hard to have expectations of thundering bass from a 1" driver. I found listening to music that was mastered for older systems sounded great. My K-Billy's Super Sounds of the 70's playlist sounds really nice on this setup. The call quality in motion is very good. VERY good. My mom called while I was riding and she was amazed that I was actively on a motorcycle. The people I have spoken to on the phone report clarity and very little background noise. The electronics on this helmet are very well designed.I ride a 2008 Kawasaki Versys 650. When I bought the bike, I didn't expect how many people would ask what I am riding. I ride with my dad often, and when we stop people bypass his Ultra Classic to ask me what my bike is.Now, I get the same reaction from my Quin Helmet! "What kind of helmet is that?" "Boy that is a sharp looking helmet!" "Where can I get one of those?"Prior to purchase I shopped Shoei, Arai, Bell, Ruroc, and other "premium" brands- all of which I would have had to bolt on an audio system. Dollar for dollar, I am exceptionally pleased with my Quin Spitfire Rosso helmet, and look forward to many happy miles!
