Nice wood;’works for intended use in quilting

I ordered this Tailor's Clapper on August 22. This tool has been made with quality hardwood & is very smooth & easy to use. The one thing I was surprised by was the size. It was much smaller than I expected. I went back and looked at my wish list & order & wouldn't you know it, I chose the small one. DUH! I really wanted the large one but I will have to wait till next month to order that one. This size is ideal as a travel companion to your iron, it is small enough and light weight enough to easily go with you to classes, seminars, retreats and any other place you take your portable iron and pressing surface. If you have never had a Tailor's Clapper, the key is to be patient, set your clapper on the just pressed and steamed seam and wait till both fabric & clapper have cooled, then remove and see the perfectly flat seam! Nicely made oak unfinished clapper. Very smooth and pleasant to handle, really helps to flatten those unruly seams. Those who complained about a smell....what smell? It’s wood and it smells like natural, untreated wood so of course it interacts with the steam and the odor becomes a bit more pronounced. But it isn’t a phony, chemical treatment smell, it is natural unfinished oak. Thank you for a wonderful product. Perfect for quilters!

Great quality! I didn't believe it really would make the seams in my quilt blocks more flat -- but it certainly does! Even on my tiny 3" pinwheel blocks the center points are as flat as can be with this clapper. Excellent quality and I love that it's made in the USA. For my sensitive hands it could use just one more hand rub with a super-fine grit sandpaper to make it absolutely perfect but most people won't need that step. Looking forward to ordering this in the larger size as well!

Pretty cool using a clapper. Truly is small, but sufficient for those small areas. Nice workmanship as well.

Not as wide as I thought it would be - but well made. Very smooth. It works great for flattening seams on my quilt blocks after they are ironed.

I use this to help press quilting seams. It works great. It holds the heat and steam in the fabric longer and makes a nice flat seam.

I absolutely LOVE this clapper. Well made and does the job. I don't know how I ever sewed/pressed without it. Worth every penney. I'm going to buy another one for my sister for Christmas this year.

I love this tool for quilting. The finish is nice and smooth and fits into my hands perfectly. Just big enough to flatten seams from small blocks to large blocks. Good investment in ensuring that your seam lines will lie nice and flat.

Just received my order today. Love the Jacksons’ clapper. I bought the small one. Fits comfortably in the hand. Very well made, smooth and a good weight to smooth down the seams. I work with quilt blocks and this makes it a lot easier. Very happy with this purchase.
