ValvolineVV966-CS 5W-40 MST SynPower Full Synthetic Motor Oil - 1qt (Case of 6) (VV966-6PK)

I’ve been using this oil in my 2016 GTI for the past few months and I’ve had no problems until I checked my oil today. I noticed that the oil level has gone down and I had to top it off after 4 months. I’m thinking of switching to a different brand next oil change since I wasn’t having this problem with Castrol edge.

Car sucks up oil so this is a good bulk purchase.

Great stuff, one of the best synthetic oils out there. Use it gas and diesels vehicles and it's certified by many manufactures for both uses. Sad to they just jacked the price up so I'm back to my local NAPA store for a lower price. To bad for Amazon as it was the place to buy this great motor oil.Different grades different certifications; 5-40W is the only one with certification for TDI and other diesel engines as well as all gas engines. Just a side note I have not been able to find an oil from any other manufacture that can match it. As an example of why I use this oil I have a TDI with over 350,000 miles and the only thing ever touched on the engine is the timing belt every 100,000 and a couple of glow plugs. I also have several others vehicles well over the 100,000 mile mark with no engine failures.

This is the best deal I've found for the special type of oil required by my 2007 Sprinter van. Many of the problems with carbon build-up and EGR cooler clogging are associated with using the wrong "spec" oil. You can go through all the miriad of choices available at some auto parts stores and not find a single one meeting the MB 229.51 spec these vehicles require. Note, there are many Valvoline SynPower products that also do not meet this spec. This one does, and aside from showing the proper spec on the container, it is labeled "MST". MST stands for Mid SAPs Technology. SAPs is sulfated ash, phosphorus, sulfur. It has a low ash content, which is what reduces the deposits mentioned earlier.I live in a hot climate, so I prefer a higher viscosity rating, which this has, although the same oil is also available in a lower viscosity rating. This Valvoline oil has the “european car” designation on the bottle. Still fantastic oil rated for Audi’s Mercedes’ ect. I run this in my v6 Camaro 2020. I live in Florida so I like the 40w in this heat.
