Hawk X1 Black Bluetooth Motorcycle Headset - One Size

This is my third X1 headset. One star down for: 1) Prong in the USB charging port broke off 1 year and 3 days after I received it. Just out of warranty, not sure if it would have been covered anyway. And 2) One of my X1 headsets (also over a year old) will occasionally shut off for no reason, even when two headsets are connected. Sometimes we can connect and the connection will stay rock solid for hours. Other times it seems like we're having to re-connect every few minutes because one of the units keeps shutting off. But when it does work, which to be fair is most of the time, the voice quality is good (phone-grade sound) and the volume is excellent. Music quality and volume is awesome as well. Battery life very good too. We ride on separate wheels (electric unicycles, actually) and the range between the two headsets while connected is a solid 20-30 feet at least with direct line of sight. Starts to break up after that, but can still maintain connection for another 10-20 feet, though the sound is distorted and unintelligible.

I can't speak for the intercom feature since I haven't used it, but the phone call feature worked great. It paired with my S7 easily enough and the volume was louder than I expected, so that's a plus. Also, the person on the other end said my voice sounded clear with a little bit of wind noise, but that has been an ongoing issue with my helmet; not the Hawk X1. It's a good product and works as advertised.

Pairs instantly to phone, but the quality of the audio connection is terrible. Had this on the left side of my helmet and my phone in my front left pocket and the sound quality was so poor, I could barely understand what song I was trying to listen to. Saw other reviews about using this to talk between riders and it being bad for that too.

Installation was super self explanatory and easy, the Bluetooth works easy, and if you use iPhone holding down the large button for a few seconds let’s you make calls/switch songs via Siri which is awesome. Only complaint is the headphones don’t have the best quality sound, it’s a little static sounding at super high volume which is sometimes needed for louder bikes and the bass is pretty lacking. That being said they’re plenty loud, the battery life is awesome, and being able to keep the housing and everything on the helmet and detach only a small peice to charge is a nice touch. Definitely glad I bought one and would recommend.

If you're like me, and you broke the charging port on your LX-B2, you can buy this as a replacement :)Love the audio loudness and the quality is pretty good, good have a little more bass but overall its MUCH better than wearing headphones.Only thing I don't like about it is that charging port and how easy it is to brake it.

I have only had this device for about 3 months and it stopped charging. Not too sure what happened, but I can no longer use this headset. I was going to re-order another headset since the price was not too bad. But now I find that there is non in stock. Looking for another option. The one thing I did not like was the the controls where lacking in many features such fwd or backward for music applications. Also, I wish there was a way to push a button to launch Siri. This is not a Apple phone friendly device. Maybe it works better on Android...

Really surprised by the ease of setup and ease of use. Volume, pause, play, answer phone, turn on/off, all with push of button. Obviously important when riding. Battery charge lasts forever. Not perfect sound quality but adequate. For a full face component helmet, the microphone has to be placed just right, or will wear from the chin guard going up and down. Overall, very satisfied.

I bought the product and attempted to assemble it. Make sure the All THE PADS in you’re helmet are removable!!!! For it to strap on the pads around your neck need to detach on my hjc helmet the neck pads don’t so all the wires press against my face. I couldn’t actullay use the system because the device wouldn’t turn on after charging( I’m sure it’s a very rare problem)
