I'm not a hater...just a sharer.
For me, the extra joint piece that the original GP mount does not have broke off after about an hour of neighborhood and local highway driving (got up to about 55mph). Of course I had to be doing 120+ on a Texas toll road when that piece failed. And of course I had to have my white 3 mounted to my front bumper about 6 inches off of the road. There was no debris there to hit and there were no dips in the pavement. A lot of Texas is flat and barren. There were a few cars right behind me though and they were acting like they wanted to go 130. The only reason I knew it was gone was that I lost the playback feed to my galx s4 (the GP app by the way is great). Stopped to check and my 3 was gone. The only thing left was the suction cup. The joint with the threaded, plastic nut you see in the picture was not the problem. It was the threaded, plastic base that nut sits on that snapped. That addition to the basic GP mount was made of a much less durable plastic compared to what GP uses. Plus you can't remove that swivel joint and still be able to attach the camera case to the mount without an additional joint that GP sells.After about an hour of searching the roadway I gave up. It joined the honored ranks of many a fallen Hero. Not funny. That Hero took about $500 with him.I'm not saying that this is a bad product for what you pay. Maybe I ended up with the one in a million that was defective. Should have used the $10 for a loto ticket 😦ps...I recommend a tether.

Worked great. Used it on a road trip and it provided a very steady image. I was pleasantly surprised. Would recommend is product.

Pretty useless. No matter how tight i make it? It it would never hold its position. Get the more expensive one and save some headache. The official go pro recommended one works great.
