My retriever loves going after this more than the rubber or canvas bumpers. I can throw it further too. The body is a basic hard blown plastic molded thicker than a decoy. The rope is nylon and doesn't look too sturdy over time. The ends of the body are open holes the rope passes through so it could possibly sink if your dog doesn't actually go after it. I put duck scent on the rope and it appears to work. Will order a couple more.

thought it would be a good training and fun toy for my german wired hair pointer, threw a few times and the crocodile came out in her and she chewed the head off in minutes, now a headless duck with a rope through the center of its body, its now a duck painted football with a rope throwing aid, but she loves it just the same

The string lasted about three throws before it broke. My dog loves duck toys, and only duck toys for her outside toy, so I still use it without the head. She still loves it

I would expect any dog toy or training device to eventually meet its demise but this item is not a durable training decoy. The product was completely destroyed after one training session with my Lab.

Teaches the dog not to shake the ducks, cuz the loose head smacks them into he face. Realistic weight

Doggie loves it. The whistle was missing, though.I expect to get what I pay for.
