Pimpology: The 48 Laws of the Game

Amazing read, but this book is not for everyone.
This will forever be one of the greatest books I have ever had the privilege to read. Pimpin' Ken essentially spins Robert Greene's "48 Laws of Power" and explains them, as only he could, from a wildly successful pimp's perspective. Given that fact, this book is written in a pimp's language and will therefore be highly offensive to those without the sensibility to look passed the effect that this language is meant to have. To quote the foreword: "This reality may be offensive to some, but it's real(...)". In spite of the manipulative nature of the language, this book is a treasure trove of wisdom in regards to interpersonal relationships, business relationships, and communication techniques. Pimpin' Ken makes no secret of the nature of pimping and goes on to further dispel some of the nastier misconceptions that surround this less than reputable profession while simultaneously warning people against becoming part of that world. The book is also just flat out entertaining and the rhymes that Pimpin' Ken lays on you often had me laughing days later.Tl;dr: Great book, but you probably shouldn't bother with it if you can't look passed the language it uses.

Is You Pimpin' or Simpin'?
Read this book in less than a day - half last night, the other half early this morning. Love it and recommend it. But here are my disclaimers:1. I'm a woman.2. Offensive terminology doesn't bother me.Moving along, I feel this book is an essential reinforcement of things you might already have learned reading The 48 Laws of Power, How to Hustle & Win, Mastery or anything written to improve knowledge of self on a business or personal level.99% of the game anywhere starts by mastering the organ between your ears first - your brain. Whether you're trying to give someone the best sex of their life, the best conversation they've ever had or convince them they have the best employee on the planet, your brain has to stay sharp enough to figure out what it takes to deliver that experience. For the record, reading this book will not eliminate all obstacles. Obstacles are a part of life. You're always bound to cut your teeth through experience, but having a pimp mentality will allow your progression to be more graceful and interactive than if you were trying to just do it on your own.As a woman, I override the aspect of prostitution because some women - at least the women portrayed in this book - have made a decision to make this their lifestyle. That's their thing and their lane. I'm not touching that. But what I am touching - and reflecting on - is how clearly you can understand that unless you're a pimp, you're always somebody's hoe. Walking throughout life, there are people who are always out for theirs and they'll pimp you at any cost. As a business owner and lover of life, I've experienced it a few times:- Someone calling you when they need something from you- Disappearing acts when you need favors returned- Talking business to pick your brain over lunch but never signing a contract- Trying to do things 50% down and then haggling with you over paying the final 50% when work is completed- Trying to get you to work for free because "they're going places and taking you with them"In business, love - and LIFE - people are always pimping and getting pimped. So in terms of self-development, I'm a huge fan of this book. The "ISMs" applied at the end of every chapter are helpful for getting the meat of the message or "Law" in plain language. I found myself having those insightful "aha" moments when I thought back to things I've experienced in my personal and professional life that haven't turned out the way I would have liked or expected ... and now I can see how I was cutting my teeth. I'm much wiser and stronger from those events, but having knowledge of the Game puts context into the situations, allowing me to truly see the signs of when it's time to act, react or withdraw. If you're too sensitive to extract crucial information from this book due to the "pimp and ho" culture, then maybe you are too square for this material. That's sad cause you're missing out on an opportunity to extract information that 99% of the people bending you over and using you right now wouldn't give you.P.S. No developing a pimp mentality doesn't mean changing who you are. It's about changing how you operate and developing a stronger sense of what's going on so you can get what you deserve as opposed to having people taking it from you for themselves OR giving you what they THINK you deserve.

Pimpin
I knew most of it already from experience, but it's a great study guide for a junior pimp. I bought it for my son not only to learn pimpin tactics, but also anti square hater and ho game offense and defense. Great book, but as you should know game can't come from a book. It got to be in you already. Only then can you decifer the knowledge within the book as well as yourself. Many helpfull tips tricks and ideas. Pimpin Ken has captured the life only as a great player in it could. Easily up there with the likes of the great iceberge slim and Donald groins. My only complaint was not the book itself but the fact it costs about 4 dollars more then the book cost to ship it. *****stars

Street wisdom that applies to business.
If all you want is a starter book on pimpingthis might get you started. If your a business student and apply the knowledge in this book you will prosper! American schools don't teach strategy. In fact they don't teach much of anything unless it's Marxist socialism. US colleges teach you what your phoney high school teachers didn't! Your lucky if you learn about strategy in your masters degree.Asians learn strategy in grade school! This book teaches business strategies you should have known early on. Pimpin Ken learned the rules because his father and friends grew up on the streets. Well worth your time to read. Read it twice cover to cover then bought a copy for a friend.Definitely in my top 10 best business books of all time.

Are you the pimp or the ho?
I loved this book! It was an entertaining and enlightening read. I would recommended this book for those in any type of business environment. It truly is not about you becoming a pimp and getting hoes to the track. It speaks to everyone who realizes your on the track right now working and earning a wage that is a fraction of what you need or want. You go back to work anyway and ask for more when it is available. You are the hoe but do you or your employer (circumstances) pimp you the best? That's for you to come to that conclusion! Hoe up or blow up! Choose or loose! See you at the mountain top!
