Pan Patrol Hanukkah story book!
Oh boy are my grandsons fans of the Paw Patrol! It is so nice to have a Hanukkah themed book to read to them for the holiday! Than you and well done, to be so inclusive!

Cute Hanukah book
It's wonderful to have a Hanukkah book with my 4 year old's favorite characters in it! Now if they would only add some Hanukkah songs on their soundtrack that Alexa plays 😁

Disappointing
Honestly, the longer I look at this book, the more disappointed I feel. For reference, I read about 40 board books a week (from the library) to my toddler, so I have gotten opinionated about what makes a good board book.We *also* own two Paw Patrol Christmas adventure stories that have been given to us by friends, so I know the quality of holiday story Paw Patrol can produce. This is the *only* Hanukkah-themed Paw Patrol book out there. (There are no Hanukkah themed episodes for the show, but I don't care because we don't watch TV.)I was thrilled when I saw the book that there was anything out there for Jewish kids. But if you're expecting anything near the quality of the Christmas books, you will be sorely disappointed.Okay, first, the good: The pictures are very nice, the dogs are cute, and the countable items are drawn distinctly enough that you can actually count them (you might be surprised at how often that's not the case). If that's all you want in a book, you'll be happy. Honestly, I'd still rate this higher than many of the generic "World of..." board books put out by the estates of popular authors.However. This book has no plot. There is no story. The Paw Patrol dogs do nothing. You could remove them and the book would basically be unchanged. They are just visual candy on the page while we count generic Hanukkah items (it's not a party without dreidles! Dreidles are so much fun! Have I told you yet about how much Jewish people adore dreidles? Hours of thrilling fun watching a 4-sided top spin around! Ok, maybe I'm a wee bit sick of dreidles.)And can I note the absurdity of a party for 10 people/pups with only 2 dreidless, 3 pieces of chocolate, 4 latkes, and 6 donuts? I know dogs can't have chocolate, but is everyone getting only a third of a latke and half a donut? There aren't even any toppings for the latkes. At least the Happy Chinese New Year counting board book (not Paw Patrol related) has enough food for all of the guests. This is seriously one of the saddest parties I've ever seen.Consider what this book *could* have been: Mayor Goodway could have been lighting a big menorah in downtown Adventure Bay and needed assistance from the Paw Patrol. Marshal could have driven up with his fire truck and use the ladder to take a light up to the menorah while Chase did crowd control. Chickoletta could get lost and be found roosting on the menorah. Or dreidles could spin out of control and Chase could track them down. Mayor Humdinger's naughty kittens could steal the Hanukkah candles and the pups could find them. Rubble could use his shovel to dig up potatoes at Farmer Yumi's to make latkes. Skye could airdrop some presents. Rocky could make a menorah-craft out of recycled materials. Zooma, well, he does water rescues. Difficult to incorporate into a Chanukkah story, but he's still a good pup.Or the pups could just light some candles and eat some latkes! (No chocolate gelt, obviously) It's a board book. It really doesn't have to be complicated. Even the literal trucks in "Where do Diggers Celebrate Hanukkah" get more involved in the holiday than this.Well, what did my kid think? He seems underwhelmed. He's asked for this one a couple of times, but frankly he likes his other Paw Patrol books better. All in all, well, I guess it's what we've got. You want a Paw Patrol Hanukkah book? This is your only option. It's not a bad book; it's just not nearly what it could have been.

Perfect Toddler Hanukkah Gift
If your toddler expects a gift each night of Hanukkah-and who doesn’t—this is a perfect gift that won’t break the bank. Our grandkids love everything Paw Patrol, so we were delighted to find this. For blended families that celebrate Christmas and Hanukkah, this is book is a great “stocking stuffer.”
