Not knowing what size of sieve or sponge I needed, I bought this set. The 16mm fits the intake of my Aquaclear 30 perfectly, and so does the large sponge. Using a sponge over the intake helps keep the filter floss in the HOB filter cleaner, but it can be tricky to take off to discard and replace without causing a mess in the tank. I think I'm going to go with the stainless steel sieve and change the filter floss more regularly in my filter.This is a good kit for figuring out the system and sizing of stuff that works best for you.

Filters well and it’ll save my fish babies

The stainless steel cages fit perfect of my HOB fluvals. Keeps baby shrimp safe. Doesn't clog up like the sponges i was using. Made upkeep much simpler.

An extra star since I was able to use the sponge as a pre filter on the stock intake

The dimension mentioned in post didnt fit my filter, very disappointed as I wanted something for my shrimp tank. The sponge was fine but the stainless steel covers were garbage.
