Q: Is this scale pre-calibrated?

Yes it is. You can also re calibrate it.

Q: So after doing a recalibration it passed but now will not zero out. Ive tried pulling battiers out and it still wont zero back out what to do?

Hello friend, you would tare follow the steps: turn on the scale; put the container on; then press "TARE" button; put some item on. For this 0.01g accuracy scale, the minimum weight is about 0.05g, error range +/- 0.03g.

Q: Plastic case won’t open. Is there a trick to gently popping case open? Or should I force it with a screwdriver?

Mine just comes open easily. It was a little harder in the beginning but got easier over time. I never have to pry it open with a screwdriver tho.

Q: What size calibration weight does this use?

It does not come with a calibration weight, but the instructions indicate to use a 500g weight. Very nice scale, used it to weigh a small cord @ .07 grams.
