The Blue Book: A Devotional Guide for Every Season of Your Life

This is one of the best devotional books I have ever used in my 58 years of walking with Jesus. I love the verses, quotes, hymns, and prayers given daily. It’s a great combination to grow your faith. I give this book to others as a gift often.

I can’t say how much I use and enjoy this book! It inspires, encourages, & challenges me.

Great weekly reads

I love this devotional. The concept of spending a week at a time around a single theme really helps me to pace a busy life more slowly and intentionally. And crafting each devotional session liturgically around prayer, Scripture, readings and song, as the book suggests, helps to carve out a sense and space of daily worship, as opposed to simply ticking off a box for a daily reading. I use this book every morning.This is book is designed to be used every day over a year or more, and the content is such that once you reach the end you could easily cycle back to the beginning, or you could pick a theme weekly to ponder. With such a design for use, the book would really benefit from more rugged binding and lay flat pages. I’ve had my copy for about 3 months and the cover lamination is already beginning to peel away, and part of the reason for that is because I have to open and close it so much during use as I’m flipping between it and my Bible. Please, please, please consider offering a spiral bound option, or even a hardback version (though spiral would be the most user-friendly option). Print shops won’t typically convert glue binding to spiral binding anymore, so having spiral option from print on demand indie publishers would be a real benefit.

This book has seen me through some of the hardest points in my life. I am obsessed with this book and how every single week no matter what the topic is it relates perfectly to my life. IT IS AMAZING. This book is perfect for someone just starting out in their faith or someone who's been walking with the Lord for years. you can do a devotional in 5 minutes or 2 hours It depends on you. Ive also been going through this book for more then a year and in that year God has used this book to speak to me in too many ways to count.

Some things about this book are helpful. Taking a Psalm, and reading it each day, is great. The suggested daily scripture readings are great. But that is just about all I can recommend about this book. The prayers and the vast majority of the quotes from authors are not for me. This book was recommended by a good and godly friend whom I respect and presumably he liked it, and gained benefit. I found the focus was not on God, but was inward-looking, self-absorbed, self-indulgent, new-agey, shallow, and a waste of time. I do not need a bloke telling me I’m great, and that God thinks I’m great. One star seems generous for this book.
