Perfect for bottling kombucha
I use this along with an auto-siphon to transfer finished kombucha into bottles for a second fermentation cycle. It really couldn't be simpler; just put the wand into the bottle, get the liquid flowing, and press the wand to the bottom of the bottle, and it fills up without any carbonation mess. When your bottle is nearly full, lift up the wand, and the liquid stops flowing. It should be noted that this wand can get clogged up at the tip if you're using it to transfer unfiltered liquids; in my case, I've found that strings of yeast can make it down the tube and get hung up in the end of the bottle filler. Fortunately, the wand tip slips right off of the tube for easy cleaning. There are just three parts there, so as long as you don't lose the pin or the spring, you can easily disassemble, clean, and reassemble it. I also use a hose clamp in my setup, just in case the bottle filler tip gets too gummed up to close completely. Haven't had to actually use the clamp yet, but better safe than sorry, I figure.

Buy it NOW
I have no idea how I survived the first few bottling sessions without this device.Anyone who has done gallon batches knows that EVERY DROP COUNTS! And everyone who has tried to bottle all alone with a siphon hose and a lousy clamp at one end knows the frustration involved.I coupled this with the mini auto siphon and can honestly say those two items were the best money spent out of my humble brewing setup. It fills bottles easily and doesn't expose the brew to oxidization from splashing around inside the bottle like it did with the clamp. Just press down to open the plunger at the end, then prime with the siphon until the first of the beer comes out the filler. Put the filler in the bottle, press down until the bottle is full and when you remove it, you're left with perfect uniform headspace in each bottle. No mess, no juggling act, just perfectly filled bottles ready to cap.

Your Personal Brewery!
Plastic Bottle Filler. I just recently began to dabble with home brewing. My first batch starting with Edwort's Apfelwein. I did two 5 gallon batches and I saved bottles up so I could bottle the apfelwein myself! I used this to fill up the bottles. All I did was attach this plastic bottle filler on the other end of my auto siphon, created the suction and then used it to fill up all the bottles. It made filling up the bottles so much faster and easier. It made me feel like I had my own home brewery filling the bottles like a factory would! I would definitely recommend this plastic bottle filler if you are into home brewing and bottling your own brew!

Works very well with 12oz bottles
Worked great to fill 12oz bottles. The process is simple. Fill the tube (siphon). insert into the bottle, and press down. That opens the valve at the bottom. Fill until the bottle is full (really near the top), then remove the filling wand. The spring at the bottom will shut-off the flow of liquid, and the space that the entire tube was taking in the bottle will be available again once the tube is out. That's exactly the space you need to keep before capping the bottle. That makes filling bottles fast and precise (and clean). For bigger bottles, a different size bottle filler would likely do an optimal work.

A must-have for a basic bottling kit
Works exactly as described. I didn't have any problems with dripping that a few others experienced. The spring-loaded tip seals immediately when lifted from the bottle. The only drips I had in my most recent batch were from the exterior of the filler, and that was easily resolved by holding it over the bottle for a couple seconds to let the drip or two fall.As a side note, my filler came in a plastic bag, and the tag was placed on the bag, so no issues with the label being stuck on the end of the filler itself.

They're all the same
Worked great. I've used both 3/8" (this one) and 1/2" bottle fillers, the 3/8" is definitely slower, but not necessarily a bad thing. Gives you time to line up the next bottle.Mine came with no label affixed, looking exactly like what you'd find at your LHBS, worked with no leaks on the first go. We'll see how it holds up over time, but it's cheap. It's going to be luck of the draw. I wouldn't expect other bottle fillers here to be any better or worse, probably identical, and at the moment this is the cheapest.

Great tool
My first couple of brews were made without this bottle filler... The fills were not consistent and I usually had beer left over or an uneven amount in each bottle, not to mention a few spills here and there. My first use of this bottle filler solved most of the problems and now everything fits as it should. My only complaint is that this should have come with a length of tubing, so I didn't have to go out and but it.

less leaks for sure
The spring definitely prevents dripping a lot better than a regular bottle filler but the flow is also slower. It seemed to lake longer to fill the bottles. Buy this if your prefer cleanliness over speed.
