Works as expected…

As a contracted professional, I need to carry my records, paperwork and a few basic office tools with me to the job site, so I carry a heavy, sturdy shoulder bag. One of the metal clips on my original strap broke after 9 years of heavy duty use, so I bought this replacement. I already see a couple of problems. First, the clips are plastic, not metal. From past experience, I don't expect plastic clips to hold up long. Second, the strap is too long. Even when the strap is completely doubled over (ie: half-length), the bag hangs near my derriere. I've had lots of bags over the past 40 years and all the others could be to my waist-line in order to allow my hip to carry a little of the weight and reduce any swinging or bouncing. Trust me. When you carry a super heavy bag, you want to carry the weight up high, and even swing the bag onto your lower back if you need a break. You don't want it swinging and bouncing below your hip (ie: bouncing off your derriere). Since it just arrived, I am hoping for the best and only took away one star, but I suspect this strap will merit less stars.

I bought a cheap duffle bag for every day carry to the gym and work. My dog liked the taste of the shoulder strap and managed to chew three quarters of the way through the webbing before I caught him. I lived with the frayed strap until I saw this item on Amazon.I didn't have high expectations until I opened the packaging and felt the heft and sturdiness of this strap. Way better quality than the original strap it is replacing.The seat belt material the strap is made from is thick, with a great tactile feel. It's both smooth and substantial. The shoulder pad for the strap, which attaches with velcro is quite well padded and stiff. There's a velcro black and gray American flag patch that can also be attached to the top side of the padding. Nice touch!I used the strap tonight after adjusting it as I wanted. The strap is plenty long to lengthen or shorten and fit well for most people. It's also nice enough to be used on any duffle or messenger bag for shoulder or cross body carry.The hardware and clips to attach the strap to the bag also seen to be pretty heavy duty, giving me confidence that it will last, unless my Husky gets to it when I'm not looking.For the price, it can't be beat. I definitely recommend this shoulder strap for anybody looking to replace or upgrade their old one.
