Very pleasant boo boo ointment
Oilogic's Essential Oil Care Ouchies & Boo Boos is an ointment to use on minor cuts and bruises on children or adults. The cream is not too oily and blends in very fast. It has a very pleasant smell. Given the natural ingredients, I feel comfortable using this on my two children. So far, we have applied it to a small cat scratch and it is healing fine.I recently started learning about essential oils for a relative and how to mix them but I am very busy running after the kids that I have not gotten around to actually doing anything with them. I was happy to buy this ointment and not worry about blending it myself. So far this ointment seems to be a good option to keep on hand for the many cuts and bruises my little ones will inevitably receive.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. All of these opinions are my own.

Small tube, doesn’t work great
Didn’t work great. I found another cream that helps better. This tube is tiny and not worth the cost

An alternative that's worth a try
**I received this product for free in exchange for an honest and unbiased review.**I am pretty impressed on the ingredients that Oilogic uses in the making of this ointment. It is free of petroleum, phthalates, parabens, sulfates, gluten, dea, dyes, synthethic perfumes, artifical colors, and mineral oil. NOT tested on animals, and made in the USA. I have not tried this on my 4.5 months old baby yet because thank god she doesn't have any scrapes and cuts at the moment, hopefully she'll never do but if she does, I'll try this ointment on her. Like the packaging says, "external uses only, perform a patch test before use by applying a dime size amount of product to forearm." I didn't try it on my baby but I have tried it myself, had a paper cut on my finger a couple days ago and applied this ointment, oil/liquid texture, didn't sting, smells like mint bubble gum to me, took a while for the ointment to get absorbed in, maybe I put a bit too much, it healed pretty well. One of the reviewers said no essential oils on little ones, I have to disagree with her on this one. I have been applying coconut oil on my baby's skin and love the results (I've checked with my pedi of course). I would rather put this natural ointment on my baby than neosporin, I believe the natural way and I like what it says on the box "Tested on our own kiddos!" :)Only one little flaw with this ointment, I couldn't seem to find the expiration date on either the packaging or the tube itself or I just overlooked? I would use this on my baby so I would recommend this natural ingredients ointment to fellow parents to try too.Ingredients: Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed OIl, Cera Alba (Beeswax), Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut ) Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) Fruit, Mentha Piperita (peppermint) Oil, Abies Balsamea (Balsam Canada), Resin, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Leaf Oil, Melaleuca Althernifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Tocopherol (Vitamine E).

I do have safety concerns for young children.
I started doing aromatherapy a little over a year ago. Took two online courses from a reputable aromatherapy school--Natural Living and Butters & Balms. As a result, I make a lot of my own products. I did a lot of research after attending an appalling presentation from one of the large mlm companies. I just knew there had to be people with information out there. Picked my first "go to" essential oil company because they had Robert Tisserand as a consultant. He's the guru for safe usage. I have his book, https://www.amazon.com/Essential-Oil-Safety-Health-Professionals-/dp/0443062412/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1469057904&sr=1-1&refinements=p_27%3ARobert+Tisserand, but use "cheat sheets" to help me with them. I still like to purchase products that are being sold commercially to see what's available. There's very little information on the product page for he Oilogic Healing Ointment Essential Oil for Minor Scrapes and Cuts Ouchies and Boo Boo's Roll-on--I just cut and pasted this title from the page. Is it an ointment or a roll on?? (It's an ointment.) The About the Product has the following information: "CLEAN & FREE of any PARABENS, PETROLEUM, PHTHALATES, SULFATES, GLUTEN, DEA, dyes, mineral oil, artificial colors and synthetic perfumes Roll on a generous amount of Oilogic Calm & relax Essential Oil Blend to back of the neck, chest and bottom of feet, breathe deeply. Re-apply as necessary. MADE SAFE Certified. GENTLY BLENDED DILUTED PERFECTLY to be SAFE and EEFECTIVE NO ANIMAL TESTING Made in the USA." That's not the right product. The ingredients aren't listed for the Healing Ointment Essential Oil for Minor Scrapes and Cuts Ouchies and Boo Boo's Roll-on. They are a several carrier oils, shea butter, beeswax, Vit E and the essential oils of Tea Tree, Orange, Balsam Fir, Clove and Peppermint. Someone needs to read and correct the information. In safe usage, it's rare to use essential oils topically for children under the age of two. If you do, it's generally for an unusual situation at very low dilutions of some of the "gentler" oils. Neither peppermint nor clove are recommended for topical use for children under six. Clove is considered a "hot" oil and has a low maximum dilution rate for adults. This ointment does use the gentler of the two clove oils, leaf rather than bud, but I'd be very careful with this. I usually don't use either of them topically. On the front of the box, it does say that this product, "Naturally comforts minor ouchies, scrapes and boo boos with a blend of essential oils." This is good because you aren't supposed to use essential oils on open wounds. When I had a scraped knee a few weeks ago, I used an herbal salve and waited to use essential oils until the next day when it was scabbed over. On the blog of my first "go to" essential oil company, there's a recipe to make your own "Neosporin." If you want to look it up, it's called, "Multi-Purpose DIY Ointment. It's made out of castor oil, beeswax, lavender, tea tree, lemon and palmarosa--all child safe for 2+. Love it.I may use this ointment, but probably not because of the clove. My nine year oil grandson could, but my three year oil granddaughter won't.I did receive a discount on this product with the expectation that I provide an honest review. This has no bearing on my rating and I review all products as if I had paid full price. My opinions are from my own personal experience with the product and I have no affiliation with the seller.
