Dan Post Men's Earp Boot

sure cost a lot to find out they didn't fit right
I was delighted when they arrived sooner than expected. Right away I checked the inside of the boots to make sure that they were the size that I had ordered. They were. But I was disappointed when I slipped them on and started walking around the house. They did not feel snug enough across the top of my foot and as a result they slipped up and down on the heel. I have worn a lot of cowboy boots in my 73 years so I know how they should feel, and these were not it. For this reason I was hesitant to order boots online as I like to try them on to make sure they fit properly but I could not find what I was looking in my size locally. My biggest disappointment (and outrage) came when I returned the boots. I printed out the return label, packaged them up and returned them within two days of receiving them. Now I was charged $202.30 with tax when I ordered the boots, but I was only credited $107.32 upon return! So in essence, it cost me $94.98 to try on these boots and find out they didn't fit properly. Return postage and restocking? That is an outrage! Even at current gas prices I could have driven to a lot more western wear shops around the state and possibly found what I was looking for. I won't make this mistake again!

I don't think they would ever 'give' enough to be a good fit. I tried several pairs of Ariat boots ...
Had to return several pairs of Ariat boot because the instep is too tight for my 'thick' feet. I might have been able to get them on, but it would have taken way too much pull and the instep would have been much too tight for me. I don't think they would ever 'give' enough to be a good fit. I tried several pairs of Ariat boots and in general it seems the instep is always tight for me. Otherwise pretty nice looking and seem to be good quality. Wish they fit me better.Dan Post boots seem to have a more generous instep for somebody with my foot shape. These fit my foot really well. True to size or maybe a bit large. I generally need 8 1/2 or 9, depending on the shoe and the 9's were kind of sloppy -loose so I returned a size 9 for this slightly different style in 8 1/2 , were maybe a bit large for an 8 1/2 but a good fit for me. I'd say that's just the manufacturer's sizing differences. These are nice looking boots and appear to be well made. If I were to find any fault with the boots, and this is my body, the tops are the tiniest bit small, if they had 1/2 inch more circumference, they would be perfect. I expect they will contour to my thick calves after a bit of wear. After 4 or 5 times wearing, the boots are great, I used some leather conditioner on the boots and they are soft and easy fitting. They seem to be conforming perfectly to my feet. The tops, almost, but not tight on my hefty calves loosen up and fit very well after a bit of wear. I'd buy again in a minute

Fantastic! Met all my expectations.
I live over seas, so I was really worried about ordering some boots online. After reading some good reviews and looking at the product pictures, I was convinced these would work.FANTASTIC. Boots fit to size. They look great, and feel really comfortable.International shipping was excellent, and quick. My GF didn't like the idea, but as soon as she saw me wearing them, she loved them. (for whatever that's worth lol)The square toe adds a unique style to the boot as well. Also, doesn't make the toe feel so cramped. If I ever need boots again in the future, I will go through this seller.

4-1/2 stars really...
I bought these to replace my Code West boots (absorbed by Dan Post ages ago), now about 30+ years old. The new boots are very stiff, by comparison, but hey, they are NEW boots. They fit well, as expected, the finish is just what I wanted, I don't like the shiny look in cowboy boots. After wearing them for a couple of hours I could feel them giving some, conforming to my foot, and am now confident they will soften more and break in nicely. I gave them 4 stars only because the seams on the inside protrudes into the boot a bit much and chaffes on my ankles on the outboard side. I thought I'd shave them down with a long chisel but decided to flatten them instead to not possibly compromise the stitching. I'd give them 4-1/2 if I could figure out how. The shafts are narrow, but I'm thin so it's not a problem. As they break in that too would be less of a concern. The clincher for me was the price, Amazon sells these for $62.00 less than all the other retailers, a 36% discount with stellar customer service and of course free shipping. I was going to buy these locally for my birthday coming soon, but figured I'd check to see and what do ya know. Now I can afford spurs with jingle-bobs, which I'm sure my horse will hate. Maybe I'll just get him some fresh alfalfa instead.

Pay attention to other reviews. Boots are larger than the size they claim to be
This was my first pair of boots. The shape of the shoe is very nice. I just wish I had paid more attention to the reviews as my 10 sized boots were wider and a little larger than my regular size. I had to put an insole in my shoes and put on really thick boot socks and still my heel was moving inside the boot. I would strongly recommend getting a boot jack as it is a workout getting these boots off. I am most likely going to keep these boots.

Great looking boots. Run a size bigger than normal.
Great looking boots but definitely run a size bigger. I usually wear a 10 1/2 D in most shoes I wear. After reading the reviews here, I went with my usual size since the majority of the customers here said the fit was "as expected" based on their usual shoe size. They fit well the first couple of days but once they started to break in, the boots became too large and wide for my feet to the point they were no longer comfortable to walk around in. Amazon has a great return/replace policy so I will be receiving a size 10 D next week to try and see if they are a better fit. These are very good looking boots though. I'll post more feedback after I try out the smaller size boots.

Fast delivery, resonable price, but the width of them differs from what I ordered (instead 3E I got the EW size ) and now I have big problem to put them on and even bigger to take them off.The price is OK so I will not bother myself to return them .
