Worked exactly how I expected.
This was great for the price. It fit the 1/2 size violin I needed it for just right. One thing to point out though is it doesn't come with any cork where it touches the violin to protect the violin and keep it from slipping. This doesn't lower my review, because there is nothing to indicate it does come with that. It is just easy to forget that you will need that before putting something like this on a violin. It's easy to find really thin sheets of cork at craft stores, so not really a big deal.

requires work to be used as a chinrest
crude, unfinished, overpriced. as it arrives from Amazon it is unusable: missing cork, supplied bracket falls off because predrilled holes are too wide, chinrest blank is too low. do not buy it if you are not willing to work on it. why would anyone wont to spend $10 on something that you have to work on if you can get different and useable chinrest for $15 from other vendors?! why did I kept it? I bought it as a starting point for DIY chinrest project to save time on carving basic shape from a block of wood myself. I knew what I was buying based on other negative reviews. thank you fellow reviewers!

Do not buy this chin rest. It will damage your violin.
1) The metal bracket prongs are not permanently secured into the ebony chinrest. I've never seen this in a new chinrest out of the box. I've bought many out of my repair shop. You have to glue them in yourself. The holes in the ebony are too big for the prongs, so it is a tricky do-it-yourselfer.2) There is no padding on the ebony (usually cork) under the chinrest. You will damage the top of the violin if you don't have this padding.3) There is no padding on the bottom metal bracket. This will damage the back of the violin.4) All in all, a dangerous product that should not come near your instrument.

Unusable as it came
There is no cushion on the metal clamp or the wooden part. I need to glue some felt on to try it.

Esta bien
The media could not be loaded.
