I plan to use this for crocheting amigurumi objects and thought I would leave some specific information here for others. One of the review questions Amazon has is for me to rate the softness of this yarn. I would say it is a firm yarn with a very smooth feel to it. I would not call the fabric it produces soft. Crochet produces a fabric with a rough texture in my opinion so I would not call it soft but it is smooth. It has a pronounced sheen which may or may not be what you are looking for. The balls measure about 4.5" x 2". The yarn is densely spun in an s-twist. It measures 26 wraps per inch and I am using a size D (3.5mm) hook. It would be perfectly fine for knitting as well, I just don't have plans to use it that way at present. I would buy this again (and again and again!). I wish there were 100's of colors!! Easy to work with. So nice and soft but a little bit in the overprice side.

Lovely sheen. Easy to work - no knots (3 skeins used). Nice definition. As I said, no complaints. I will be purchasing this yarn again.

Good quality, mercerized cotton thread. Used to crochet toys. Got it on sale and it was a good deal.
