Heil Sound Windscreen for PR30 & PR40 Microphones

I ordered this windscreen for my Heil PR40, and can say that while expensive, it's an excellent, high quality windscreen. There is one thing to be aware of, however, as I discovered. If you want to use the PR40 with a shock mount, this windscreen is almost too big/long to work with the kind of mount I have. In other words, it won't go all the way on the mic, because there isn't room when the mic is fitted into the shock mount. However, I found an easy solution. I had another good windscreen on my EV RE320, which is actually shorter than the Heil screen. So I just plopped the Heil screen onto the RE320 and used the other screen on the PR40, and they both worked like a dream. Since the 320 is much longer than the PR40, the shorter screen was ideal for use with the shockmount. So I'm happy and glad to give this product 5 stars.

Looks good well made

This is a simple windscreen that fits the PR40 that I use. It is functional and effective. I think it is overpriced for what it is, but I needed a windscreen that fits and this fits the bill. I find it is quite helpful in reducing the plosives.

This filter fit like a glove and will certainly keep the microphone plosives at bay.

A must have addition to use with your microphone to minimize breathing and lip smacking sounds. Fits well with my PR40.
