Brilliant!
I started to have sleeping problems and health issues during my early childhood, and I have spent most of my life looking for answers and solutions. This book brought to me the last pieces of a huge and complex puzzle that I’ve been trying to solve for decades. Combining the wisdom of ancient knowledge and modern science, Lisa has created a programme with a range of methods and techniques that will address the deep causes of insomnia and provide sustainable, long term solutions (opposite to mainstream medicine that focuses mainly on addressing symptoms, looking only at the tip of the iceberg). Asana sequences, breathing techniques, acupressure and more, these techniques are simple and accessible to anyone and yet immensely powerful and effective, I can tell that the results are almost instant.But I dare to say that “Yoga Therapy for Insomnia and Sleep Recovery” goes beyond what the title states, put aside the focus on sleeping issues and you’ll realise that this book is offering us the tools to have a meaningful life in Era where sleeping problems are one of many symptoms of our disconnection with the gentle rhythm of Nature and her innate wisdom.

A must have read.
A fantastic, must have book for individuals suffering with Insomnia and a valuable resource for yoga teachers. Lisa has combined cutting edge western science, and research with thousands of years of proven yogic techniques to create a truly unique system of tapping into the brains ability to rest. The book is easy to follow but with lots of information and things to try to give you the power back over your sleep cycles. So many additional resources throughout too. Lisa is an excellent senior teacher and a leader in the community and this book is nothing short of excellence too! Can't wait for her next book!

Disappointing
I was actually quite disappointed with this book. It promised so much. I was expecting a radically different understanding of how to deal with insomnia. But I thought a lot of the book was quite superficial and didn’t dive as deeply into things as I’d hoped for. The writing isn’t brilliant and the flow of information doesn’t seem that well organised. The saving grace are the yoga sequences. But even there, description is at times thin on the ground.

Wonderful informative yet easy to read and understand!
Absolutely Fabulous book. I bought this as I've applied for a scholarship to take Lisa's Sleep Recovery Course, part of the application was to skim the book for things in it which would particularly apply to my potential client base. I intended to do just that but was absolutely hooked from the first page and read it when I had any spare moment, it is so informative yet easy to read. I've now read it in full several times. If you're interested in this field of yoga, I would highly recommend. Its absolutely bursting with information to help you or your clients.

A brilliant book - A MUST READ for anyone experiencing or working with people with insomnia
This book is extremely rich in information to help anyone gain a better understanding of sleeping difficulties and means of overcoming insomnia. It is easily accessible to both those with and without prior knowledge of yoga. I would highly recommend this book to anyone with any type of sleeping difficulties / restless nights. As a psychotherapist, I have recommended Lisa Sanfilippo's book to clients and young adults who were keen to explore other means of improving their sleep patterns and general well being.
