Zeke Meeks Vs the Horrifying Tv-Turnoff Week

Great for developing readers
Funny plot with simple characters for developing readers. The readability is appropriate for children who are just beginning chapter books. The character is a boy with two sisters and would appeal to boys in Grade 2/3 age group. Highly recommend!

No TV for a week? DRATS! What is Zeke supposed to do now?Zeke is a smart little COOKIE (he even likes crossword puzzles). In fact, he knows lots of stuff. He likes MATH (sort of?!?!).I’m going to have lots of Zeke Meeks books! I want more! Thanks D. L. and Josh!

Great book for 8 year olds/3rd graders
My son hates reading but I make hom read every night. I have tried many books to spark his interest but havent really found any. He needed chapter books and these ended up being perfect. Teh chapters arent too long and the main character is an 8 year old 3rd grader so he relates. We read a chapter every night and he is on his 3rd book. My 1st grader 6 year old loves them too. I read a chapter to him every night and hae him try to read a few paragraphs. I hope more come out in the series so he can keep reading!

Zeke Vs Science
Loved this one! The science fair is a big deal at our school and this story was hilariously fun for my son.

Just as bad as the rest
I am shocked that this was part of our schools curriculum as an option for reading material, and I have let his teacher/ principle know. I continue to struggle to find quality literature for my children that does not necessarily include the classics. These books are filled with phrases like "girls are stupid, my sister is stupid and my mother is stupid" as well name calling "you're a freak" and bullying with little resolution. They are not isolated incidents but they are attitudes and language used thought the books. This is not what I want my kids reading, living or learning about. Returned these the day we got them.
