Awesome and interesting piece
My SO just took up the cello and was having a hard time finding a chair that was the right height for playing (he's tall). This stool solved that problem by being fully adjustable AND it looks awesome in our place. It went together super easily, all holes lined up perfectly. It's a sturdy, handsome and HEAVY stool.

Very nice piece of furniture, great finish and look
Very solid and well built. It is a type of pot metal but it is heavy and stout. Bought one as a prize for my employees and have had several ask where they could get one themselves.Assembly was very easy but I would recommend keeping the bolts loosely in the holes and not tighten things up until all bolts are in. I tightened as I went and had some holes not line up. Just needed some looser play and then it all fit together fine. The crank is stout and I felt safe sitting on it. It’s not just a nice piece for display, it is a working piece of furniture. Wife wants me to buy one her her.

Don't buy if you don't own a Dremel (or know what one is)
As other reviewers have mentioned, this stool is in most respects great. It's heavy, sturdy, cool-looking, and it's a steal for $159. Yet, it's not perfect, entirely because there are casting flaws in some of the parts that make it impossible to assemble without tools and the ability to use them. If you don't own a Dremel -- or know what one is -- this isn't a good choice for you.

Great chair
I read other reviews on this chair and was skeptical to purchase it. Product came well packaged and is manufactured quite well. Instructions were written poorly but assembly is very easy. The key is to not tighten the bolts until the unit is fully assembled. After that is complete then use the supplied grease and use it all in the gears. I’m very happy with my purchase and you will be as well.

Amazing and well made solid stool.
Really sturdy functional and beautiful stool. This is quite heavy and sturdy. I love that it is all real materials and not plastic. It is balanced and won't tip over with normal movements. I put a foam stool cushion on it because I needed padding, but I hated covering up the beautiful solid wood seat. After some rolling up and down to scrape off the pain on the seat stem it moves well up and down.
