This retro-inspired skid lid ditches trendy vents and gizmos to create a stripped-down aesthetic that screams "low tech" and "high speed" in the same breath. Construction features include a seamless injection-molded ABS outer shell, shock-absorbing EPS inner shell and a removable hand-stitched comfort liner with open-cell foam and brushed Lycra construction. The comfortable chinstrap is adorned with brushed Lycra material on touch points and features a flat D-ring fastener with an adjustable snap end retainer. Molded BioFoam padding inside the Gringo's chin bar picks up the liner's stitched diamond pattern with contrasting thread that matches the ventilated polyester panels inside. Five snaps around the Gringo's eye port facilitate easy installation of a Biltwell bubble shield or Blast shield (sold separately.).

Very well made helmet, beautiful finish and the liner looks and feels much nicer than you'd expect on a helmet in this price range. While the size chart pegged me as an extra large, I read several reviews (consumer and professional) that recommended ordering a size smaller than what the chart recommends. I went with this and got a large, but if I ever buy another Gringo I'm going to go with the extra large I measured in at. The large is a bit tight around the top of my head and the cheek pads squish my face to the point where I look a little chipmunky without the shield on (fortunately, they're removable, and not uncomfortable if I have she shield hiding my face). It'll probably break in a bit better after a couple hundred more miles, but I feel like an extra large would be more comfortable from the start. If you have a local dealer that sells Biltwell, try some on first!

get a lot of compliments. have to say though i do get a slight burning sensation on my forehead when i ride too long and i have had the cross stitch patter show up before on my skin haha. but i started wearing a bandana to stop that from happening.

Brand runs LARGE!
I wear a size small in every other brand but size small was too large. Ended up returning and ordering an XS and it fits perfect.
