Nicolaes Maes – Dutch Master of the Golden Age

Unfortunately, I missed this exhibition so bought the book as compensation. I don't regret it. As always with British exhibition books, the quality of the paintings is first class as well as the informative accompanying essays on Maes. I love art from the Dutch Golden Age, and this is a great addition to my modest but growing collection of books from that particular period. Definitely recommend!

This book is a masterpiece in itself. My understanding of Maes was enhanced. The illustrations are simply beautiful. It is Incredibly good value for money. It has become one of my favourite art books.

I think the reproductions are useful for art students, very classic composition of painting.I love Dutch painting, the paintings are wonderful to look at.
