This book is totally amazing, Chloe has done it again
This book is totally amazing, Chloe has done it again. It follows Ethan on his quest to rule the GP.Of course it isnt all plain sailing in either there relationship or for the take over of the GP.This book has me laughing one minute and shouting at my kindle the next.Beautifully written , i love this series as it tackles one story at a time and does not leave a cliff hanger, howvever it does leave you wanting more.Roll on the release of Dark Debt .

A good series to get your teeth into
A great read as always. The whole series has been good, you really feel like you get to know the characters and the storylines along with their personalities are consistent. Not going to fill the True Blood gap but does a good parallel job, although I do have a hard time not comparing Ethan with Eric

Chicagoland Vampires book 10
There is a serial killer on the hunt in Chicago and since all clues point to the murderer being a supernatural creature it is up to Merit and the Ombuddies to help the CPD figure out exactly what is going on. Quite frankly Merit is just relieved to have something to take her mind off the fact that Ethan has challenged Darius to become the new head of the GP. There are only a small number of possible outcomes to the challenge and Merit isn't sure if she's prepared for any of them!I have to admit to having mixed feelings when Ethan challenged Darius, I was intrigued by the idea because it has the potential to open up all kinds of possibilities for the future of the series but at the same time I was a little nervous that it would mean that this story in particular could potentially become quite predictable. I was pretty certain when I picked up Blood Games that I knew exactly how things would play out and where Ethan and Merit would be at the end of it. I'm happy to say I was completely wrong with my guesses though and Chloe Neill managed to side swipe me with something that I would never have considered - I just love it when an author can do that to me! Things are certainly getting interesting and I can't wait to see what happens in the next few books.Merit and Ethan are both under a lot of strain in this book and it does seem for a while like they've taken two steps backward in their relationship which was a little disappointing but even though Ethan tries to keep Merit at arm's length I loved seeing her so determined to break through his barriers. Before we've seen her turn tale and run when things get hard so it was great to see her fighting for what she wants but I'm going to admit to wanting to smack Ethan around the head a couple of times and tell him to stop being such an idiot. He does have some incredibly sweet moments too though so I forgave him fairly quickly. When they are on the same page their relationship is one of my favourite to read about and to be honest I still love them when they're arguing, they're just so well suited to each other and I enjoy the way Merit brings out Ethan's more playful side. One character that really gets a chance to shine here is Mallory, she has come a long way towards redeeming herself over the last few books but it was here when I really felt her friendship with Merit starts to properly get back on track. I loved that they finally had a real conversation about what had happened in the past and how they both wanted to move forward in the future and I was pleased that Chloe Neill took the time to add that to the storyline. I also really, REALLY loved the section where Merit and Jonah visit the convention, it was absolutely hilarious and I had tears in my eyes from laughing so hard! (Surely I can't be the only one who wanted her to buy the Ethan underwear just so we could see his reaction when he first saw her wearing them? That scene would be PRICELESS!).Blood Games is a fab instalment and I think it's been a real game changer so I don't really have any idea what to expect from Dark Debt but I do know it's a book I'm desperate for and I can't wait to see what happens next.

They get better and better
They get better and better. Great book with good pace, lots going on as usual and I'm happy that the series hasn't lost momentum like some can. Can't wait for the next.

Another read that I could not put down until I finished.
Another good read from Chloe Neill. This story sees Merit and Ethan relationship put through another test. There is the testing for the head of GP during this time Ethan pulls away from Merit as he thinks his past will cause her to run away. In Chicago there is the tarot card murders for Merit to keep her mind on and not Ethan`s fears. I can't wait until next story.

DON'T MISS THIS
Once again a great book. Wish that there were more of them. The interaction between all of the characters is so believable. Lets face it no relationship is perfect and conflict will always be there, but it is all handled so well. The end was so well done as I couldn't see Ethan ending up in London, but what a surprise with the winners actions. Should make for a great next book.

4 Brilliant Series Stars
Blood Games is book #10 in the Chicagoland Vampires series.Every time I read a PNR I always finish thinking I loved that why don’t I read more paranormal stuff lol.Yet again I loved my interlude into Merit and Ethan’s world and I wish I read more PNR lol. This series is so good that even when months have passed since I read the previous book to this in the series I was instantly drawn back into the Cadogen house without ever feeling like I needed to reread to catch up.Merit and Ethan have a potent chemistry that very sexy but also light-hearted and funny. The sarcasm and wit these characters all exude is effortless and even with such a huge cast each character has a distinct ‘voice’.There’s always some new drama in this series but it never gets old or repetitive, Merit is like a crime fighting ninja and honestly I want to be her when I grow up (and become a vampire)The scene at the Comicon was hilarious, is it weird that I would totally buy Ethan panties if they were available.Blood Games was a great addition to this series and I thoroughly enjoyed it.It gets 4 stars from me.

A really, really wonderful addition to the series.
As I was reading this book it hit me again the difference between good authors and great authors. Great authors, IMHO, are great because they allow us to see into the daily lives and motivations of the characters. We learn more than just what we need to know about the plot, we learn what the characters are like as people. Ms. Neill does this so well that it is almost unnoticeable. Early on we have a conversation in the dining hall between Lindsey, Margot, Brody and Merit. No spoilers, nothing that moves the plot along, just 4 friends hanging out over breakfast. And I want to hang out with them, also. I care enough about these characters to want to just hang out with them, and that is what makes a great author. The plot is, as always in Chicagoland, a hot mess of people gunning for the house, murder in the city and emergencies only Merit can solve. Always entertaining, fast paced, interesting, villains you love to hate and supporting characters you love. Telling you anything more than the blurb would be spoiler-y, so I'm not going to do it - but if you have liked the previous books in the series you will love this book. (The only complaint is that I am getting tired of their being some angst in Ethan's and Merit's relationship in every novel. Enough already!)If you have not read the previous books, you need to read the series from the beginning. this is not a stand-alone.If you can't tell already, I loved this book!Would I read it again? Yes! Absolutely!

Serial killers, GP politicking, threats from the past – and Merit right in the middle of it all
Note: this is the 10th installment in the Chicagoland Vampire series and although story arcs are finished from time to time, others are started and go over more than one book. And even more important are the characters and their relationships that have developed over time. To sum it up: this is not a good place to start the series. And there will be spoilers for events in prior books. So if you're new to Chicagoland Vampires, I recommend you stop reading here and start with “Some Girls bite”.ReviewAh, there is no rest for Merit and her friends. But when Ethan announced his challenge for the presidency over the Greenwich Presidium [aka GP] in the last book, it was kind of obvious that consequences would follow. And in this book, they do. But not at all in the way, Merit and the rest of Cadogan House [or I] assumed. I can't really talk about the twists this particular thread takes, or it would be spoiling big time, but I can tell you that not a single event, not how the GP reacts, not how the events unfold and least not how it all turns out in the end, were anything at all that I saw coming. My mind was reeling and continued to until the last page. This was one fabulous written surprise, especially in a series being going on for so long already. It really never gets stale and that really is a feat in my book. The same is true for Merit as a person and her relationship with Ethan. I know of series that get boring after hero and heroine finally get together, but that so isn't true for these two. The obstacles they experience don't feel construed and I love reading how the tackle them [and each other, when they're at it]. Merit has grown a lot since she was initially bitten, but so has Ethan and still he is very clearly the hundreds of years old vampire. I think him awesomely well written and fleshed out. And although her friends outside the vampire community have not many appearances, I was happy to see Mallory behave like a friend for a change. To be absolved, she'll have to do more in my book, but it was a good start.Since one kind of trouble isn't enough in Merit's life as the Sentinel of her House and the granddaughter of the Ombudsman for Chicago's supernatural community, there is a serial killer on the loose, whom Merit and Jonah help to catch, lest the precarious peace between supernaturals and humans be lost again. They know the supernaturals make good scapegoats for all that goes wrong, so they are very motivated to solve the crime. And although I love how the case is built and how it all unfolds and stuff, this would me my [minor and only] complaint about this book: there are hints that point strongly into a certain direction, so I knew pretty early on that the killer would be found there. When Merit, Jonah and the “Ombuddies” and CPD let themselves get diverted from that lead by inconsequential problems, I rolled my eyes at the weak diversion. But then, this didn't really diminish my love for the story and how it unfolded, so it's still 4,5 stars from me – and I'm already excited for the next installment, “Dark Debt” in march 2015.

I just Can't get enough of this Urban Fantasy series. This book is as solid as any in the series, and does not let down at all. By now, to the series reader, you know who and what everyone is and this book stays true to form.I see the next book is already being advertised as of Sept. 2014.....I can't wait.
