Japanese Animated - TA14 Decepticon Showwave (Shockwave)

敵ながらあっぱれと思わせられてしまうほど活躍したショックウェーブ。その格好良さを十分に再現できているデザインだと思います。全身に仕組まれた可動ポイントにより全くと言っていいほど別の姿になってしまうギミックが凄い。しかもブリッツウイングをも上回る変形形態数（あちらに比べると多少やっつけ感はありますが…）。遊びごたえは十分あると思います。　ただ細身の体で可動ポイントが多い分、四肢の強度が脆弱気味なのが気になります。自分のは右脚付け根がユルユルで、キャノンを腕にマウントした状態ではまともに立たせることができないほどでした。さらに肩の付け根もかなり不安…変形はさほど複雑ではないものの、これで幼児向け玩具というにはちょっと厳しいものがありますね…それと可動範囲も思ったほど広くなく、単純なポージングしかできないのも気になるところ。

前から欲しがってたのでやっと購入できてテンション上がってます!変形の仕方も簡単だし、問題なく遊べます。しかし、手のパーツや足の部分のパーツは荒く無理矢理に変形させるともげるんじゃないかとビクビクしました。でも特に気にならないので、他のシリーズもそうですがこれはすごいと思います。

オートボット形態で、背中のクレーンが災いして即刻ディセップだとばれてしまうショックウェーブさんです。難点といえば、「ぱっとしない」って言うところでしょうね。出番もまだまだ先なのにどうしてこんな時期に出てきたのか。ていうか、こんなところでネタバレしていいんでしょうかね。日本版はつくづく売り方に疑問を感じます。先に難点を挙げておきます。ロングアームからショックウェーブに変形する際、頭を動かすと自動的に顔が変わるんですが、ちょっと中途半端にロングアームの顔が残るので、後頭部からパーツを触って調整しないといけません。また、ロングアームの手は軟質パーツが使ってあるうえに、それが小さいパーツなので、油断して雑に扱うとちぎれてしまいます。なので、グリスか何かの潤滑材を塗布してから、ゆっくり動かしてなじませておく事をオススメします。自分はうっかりちぎれそうなりまして、ヒヤヒヤものでした。魅力は何と言ってもオートボット形態とディセプティコン形態の二つの姿ということ。触ってみて気付くんですが、ロングアーム形態ではずんぐりマッシブな体系、ショックウェーブ形態ではのっぽでスリムな体系と、割とキャラのイメージを大切に作られた形になっています。方針の先端がＧ１のレーザーウェーブのまんまだったり、遊び心は随所に感じられますよ。最大のポイントはクレーン兼キャノン。これ、あまり宣伝されてませんけど、レバー操作と隠しスイッチのお陰で変形させるたんびに「ガチンッ」「パシュッ」っといったような、小気味いい音と感触と共に自動変形しますので、触ってみるとクセになりますよ。後にラグナッツと、メガトロン様の忠臣の座をかけてペチペチとケンカすると思うので、そちらもお買い忘れなく！

Shockwave/Longarm Prime was my favorite in all of Transformers Animated. So it makes me ecstatic to finally have the figure in my hands. And boy is it a treat.The joints are tight and the intricacies of the transformation between the two separate and VERY different robot modes are a delight to discover.The two vehicle modes are also fun to see the difference and play around with. Even if Longarm lacks wheels on the underside of his feet and shoulders to make it role. So the crane mode is mostly meant to be static.The Japanese version also comes with purple decepticon insignias and red autobot symbols, something which the gray American version did not have. So if you are a stickler for that sort of thing, it's here.But I still have a few grievances with this figure beyond the wheels for the crane form. But since I bought this figure so many years after the toy line ended, I do not know how valid my grievances are.Longarm's face is slightly cracked down the middle. I do not know if the soft plastic (or if it's just painted on) is to blame, but it's there. Sure, it makes him look worn and wounded, which works if you think Cybertron as a war zone. Even an Intelligence Officer can't escape every battle unharmed.I also expected Shockwave's hips to connect a bit more firmly to Longarm's torso. I don't know if it ever settled in with a click, if I'm doing it wrong, or if always did that.And secondly, this is probably my biggest grievances. Right out of the box, I got two right feet, one of which pops off easily. And Shockwave's left horn was crocked. The second thing is easily amendable with some heated water, but it still bugs me.I won't return this since I still find the figure to be exceptionally well done and well done and VERY fun. But it's all those little grievances and peeves that keeps me from giving this figure a full score.
