Professional Reel Winder with Strong Kevlar Line 9 inch Diameter with 1,000 FT Line

I READ A LOT OF THE REVIEWS FOR THE DIFFERENT REEL WINDERS AVAILABLE AND IT SEEMS EACH ONE HAD ITS SHARE OF NEGATIVE REVIEWS, SO I WAS CONCERNED ABOUT WHICH ONE TO CHOOSE. WHILE I'M NOT AN AVID KITE FLYER (ON THE BEACH A DOZEN TIMES A YEAR) I WANTED SOMETHING THAT WAS QUALITY AND A REEL THAT COULD HANDLE A LARGE 100 INCH KITE. THIS REEL IS NICE QUALITY AND MAKES KITE FLYING SIMPLE. YES THE HAND OPENING IS A SHADE SMALL FOR MY ADULT MALE HANDS BUT I FOUND MYSELF HOLDING IT DIFFERENTLY THAN YOU PROBABLY SHOULD ANYWAY. THE POSITIVE STOP IS SIMPLISTIC AND EFFECTIVE. IT WINDS OUT AND IN SMOOTHLY. THE STRING SEEMS FINE AND I HAD MY 96 INCH KITE OUT TO ABOUT THE END OF THE REEL AND THERE WERE NO SPLICES. COMES WITH STORAGE BAG AND TWO ADDITIONAL HOOKS. COMMON SENSE HANDLING OF THE REEL BY KEEPING IT WAY FROM THE SAND,DIRT,AND WATER ETC. WILL RESULT IN A REEL THAT SHOULD GIVE GOOD SERVICE FOR A LONG TIME

This reeler worked as stated for kite flying...well worth it. I due recommend that when you get it to tighten all the screws. I saw that in a previous review and they were right. Otherwise I would buy this product again.

Excellent product!! The first one I bought was well made, but sized for a child's hands. This one is both high quality and properly sized for a full grown adult (man in my case). The line is high quality and the reel works flawlessly. Was able to reel in my delta kite with ease, even in a pretty strong wind. Strongly recommend this product.

Smooth winding and surprisingly high quality.Using on a very large kite. I think string weight would be too heavy for a small kite.

The reel winder is a great way to fly any kite. You have to be careful about how the string comes around the pulley. The first time we used, we got the string wrapped around the pulley. We didn't notice until we tried to bring the kite in. My partner had to walk the kite down, to take pressure off of the pulley, so the string would not be cut while retrieving. Since then, I have made sure before flying about the line and the pulley.Since buying, I have read reviews of kevlar line, that were not very good. We have only flew it with a kite by itself or spread away from each other. I will probably eventually replace the kevlar with dacron, but for now the kevlar has been fine. The reel winder part has worked flawlessly, and makes for easy release and retrieval of line.

Quick Review for the Professional Reel WinderPackaging: I got it in a cheap tote bag already torn by the reel handle. Inside the bag is an annotated picture of the Reel WinderIssues:1. Metal Clip would not fit through the pulley system/string guide (whatever that metal thing that sticks out is called) I had to cut the string and then reattach the metal clip after sending it through.2. Pulley system kept on spinning like the front wheels on a shopping cart. This created knots when trying to fly kite. I had to use a screwdriver and spanner to tighten then there were no more knots from the pulley3. I tried just holding the reel and let it unwind by itself as a gust of wind was allowing my kite to ascend and as it spun it got tangled in the handle. In fact this happened every single time I allowed it to spin on its own. I have to hold the handle and control the rate at which the reel spins.Those issues aside, I found the product to be very sturdy and I am glad that I am now able to reel in my kite from a thousand feet in the sky straight to my hands in a matter of minutes
